Centipede for the arcade - Image 1Atari has rolled out an official announcement for Atari Classics Evolved, a PlayStation Portable title that will feature some of the company's most famous titles.

According to the announcement, Atari Classics Evolved will feature titles such as Asteroids, Battlezone, CentipedeMillipede, Missile Command, Super Breakout, Tempest, Warlords and Pong. All of the games included in the collection will be available both in original and evolved versions. Evolved versions will feature the same gameplay but will have enhanced graphics.

This particular PSP collection was spotted on Gamefly early in July with a November 15 release date. Atari's announcement only had Atari Classics Evolved set for a Fall release, though. More updates as we get them.

All those games are emulated on PSP already.

They've also been released as a thousand homebrew iterations.

Oh well. Ye Olde Time Fun for non-homebrewer PSPs.

It's a shame that MAME isnt actively being worked on. I really don't want to buy yet anotehr compilation, how many times will they release the same games in some instances for the same platform just in different (but same compilations)

I wish I had the knowhow myself to make the PSP are more Arcade Emulation Friendly machine. MAMEforall is ok but needs serious work...
