We know developer ZootFly and its game Ghostbusters is in some kind of a fix right now, but news about them (the dev and the game) just wouldn't stop. Judging from your reactions to our initial posts, it seems like a new game will highly be appreciated. And with that said, here's another update about Ghostbusters.In case some of you are still wondering if the YouTube vids are fake or not, ZootFly states for the record that they are indeed legit. And as to why they posted them on a very popular user-based site, programmer Tibor Klajnscek gives this explanation: "We were primarily interested in seeing the response from the fans and hoping to get some valuable feedback. I must say that we're very happy with the overwhelmingly positive response to the prototype footage!"
Speaking of which, one of those vids included a chase scene with a revamped Ecto-2. In case you are not familiar with it, Ecto-2 is actually a European Chrysler 300 station wagon that replaced the 1959 Cadillac ambulance. Klajnscek mentioned that while they haven't secured any licensing agreements with Chrysler yet, they are really pushing for this vehicle. He explained: "When we were designing the Ecto-2 we decided to go with the Chrysler as it is a really cool car. Also, the car is European so we hoped Americans would find it more exotic."
If you ask us, we truly, madly, deeply honestly would want to see a new Ghostbusters game. Seeing the four proton pack-wearing dudes in action once more definitely brings back fond childhood memories.

Sony would be RETARDED to not let this go through. Ghostbusters has it's place and history and will never die. I don't care what system it comes out with....the idea of 4 player online (or offline) co-op and strapping on a proton pack with some friends sounds pretty awsome to me. If Sony let's this happen, I bet we'll see the 3rd movie finally happen. I think the Ghostbusters need one final appearance on games and on the big screen.

i agree tht Ghostbusters will never die but sum sequels, games, cartoons just arnt gud. so if they made a film...wud need Bill Murray + a good script.

As long as it comes to more consoles besides just the 360 I'll be happy.
I hate to say it, but even though it's in the works for 360, I see this going to PS3 first or even exclusive. Since this is a hit, my guess is that this will give Sony the spark to green light the 3rd movie finally, and launch this game along with it. Blu-ray game, Blu-ray DVD. We can always hope though can't we?

Two reasons.
One is rights issues. For some reason Ghostbusters movie rights are all over the shop.
Two, Bill Murray is not interested unless his character dies, and that was BEFORE he had a huge hit with Lost in Translation.
Ghostbusters is dead, and this game will be yet another piss poor licensed atrocity.
