Another look at the PSP Go - controller connectivity, in-game XMB |

According to Game Watch, the PSP Go will indeed have support for both the Sixaxis and DualShock 3 PS3 controllers. Let's face it - the PSP Go may just be a tad too small for some hands, so this option is a welcome alternative when you're at home anyway, or if you're willing to take a controller with you to play outdoors. For obvious reasons, you won't be able to use L2, L3, R2, R3, and the second analog stick if you use a controller.
There's also confirmation that the PSP Go is capable of bringing up the XMB while you are in-game. Pressing the Sony logo would give you the option to suspend the game, access any of the other features found on the XMB, and even turn the device off while keeping the game suspended.
As you can see from these images, the PSP Go isn't that much smaller than a PSP-3000. The design looks like you'll have very limited finger real estate though, hence the controller support. The new portable should still make your pockets bulge a bit, but since you'll be emptying those pockets in buying one of those, there will probably be more room down there.

Even so, I think that if sony does let us use the SDK to develop our own stuff I'll get one anyways, I mean the only reason I have a PSP is for the Homebrew.

The problem with the XMB is that if it detects its running on a 2000/3000 then it tries to allocate more than 32MiB for itself (which isn't available in-game). If the XMB was forced to think it was running on a Phat, then it would only allocate less than 24MiB and it could be force to load along side a game on the 2000/3000.

1 - $250 bones when my current PSP still works.
2 - 16gb would not be enough for my current collection, perhaps 16gb expansion would help... but I bet it wont be cheap.
I think it's smexy as hell... but I still have my PSP1000 and am just as happy with it as any other PSP i've used.

If you ask me. IRShell ftw. Switch to the IRShell interface to listen to music, open files, etc, all while still in the game. That way you can switch back and forth if you wanted. Listen to music while you read something on Bookr. IRShell is ahmazing.

its cool and all but too small to fit my fingers and $250 is just a waste of money if you already have one....

Now they need an attachment that clamps onto the dualshock and acts as a cradle for the psp-go.

it would have been nice if they kept the pro-duo slot....as so many of us have bought tons of pro-duo cards.
I will probably get it, because my 1000 is getting old, and i'm sick of updating it all the time with custom firmware to keep up with features. I would like to have one that is legit and I can just click one thing like a newb to update it

A portable computer (which is what the PSP is, the "gaming device" is proprietary BS made up by companies like Sony and Nintendo) that can run any form of Linux would be more useful than a device that just runs games and is considered nothing but a toy.

"that's the attitude I'd hear coming from someone stupid enough to say 'Official firmware updates help the security of my PSP, I only use official SONY updates'"
you lost me here. i have no idea what kind of point you are making.
"the 'gaming device' is proprietary BS made up by companies like Sony and Nintendo"
huh? of course a 'gaming device' is meant to play games that are made for a specific console or handheld. i don't understand how that is BS.
"a portable computer...that can run any form of Linux would be more useful than a device that just runs games and is considered nothing but a toy"
the usefulness of a is relative to the individual. if someone wants to just play psp games, listen to music, watch movies/porn, then the psp would satisfy with no problem. if someone wants to a personal portable computer (i think it's called a laptop) then the psp would not sufice and be useless in the respect.
