We just finished a long article with the lists of Amazon best sellers (plus a bit of analysis and commentary) for the big three home consoles, and now it's time for the handhelds and the PC.

Why do we bother to report what's hot on Amazon? Because these numbers are important. This isn't some silly poll. It's not an election. These lists show which things people are paying good money for. And when that many people are spending this much on these things, it's worth talking about from time to time.

These are timely lists. Amazon updates the rankings every hour.

Top 10 sellers for PSP. GTA and Star Wars take control of the list, but Madden is still nearly unstoppable.
  1. Madden NFL 07 (one of EA Sports' more popular games, it keeps appearing in top 10 lists for all platforms and consoles)
  2. Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories
  3. accessory: Sony PSP PlayGear Pocket (a protector case that doubles as a sunshield while gaming and a stand while watching movies)
  4. Star Wars Battlefront 2
  5. Medal of Honor: Heroes
  6. Lego Star Wars 2: The Original Trilogy (this title is sometimes not in the top 10 lists of other platforms, but it has found a comfy home in the PSP)
  7. Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories
  8. Daxter (the underhyped success story; we're glad that Jak's sidekick from the Jak and Daxter series of games is doing well in a game all his own)
  9. Marvel Ultimate Alliance
  10. Killzone: Liberation (beating SOCOM Fireteam Bravo 2, which came in 11th)
Top 10 sellers for DS. Nintendo of America is the clear winner with Mario and the three Nintendogs titles.
  1. New Super Mario Bros. (Nintendo of America's FTW title)
  2. Brain Age (the hype has died down and it's STILL going strong)
  3. Nintendogs Labrador Retriever and Friends (another Nintendo of America success - this one beats the other two Nintendogs titles because retrievers are the best)
  4. Final Fantasy 3 (Square Enix USA was smart to remake a popular Japan-only title and give it to the world)
  5. Pokemon Ranger
  6. Nintendogs Dalmatian and Friends
  7. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Blue Rescue Team
  8. handheld: Nintendo DS Electric Blue (yes, the DS is still selling very well)
  9. Animal Crossing: Wild World
  10. Nintendogs Daschund and Friends
Top 10 sellers for PC. Sims and Microsoft Flight Simulator take the list.
  1. The Sims 2 Pets Expansion Pack (EA's simulation franchise keeps going)
  2. Microsoft Flight Simulator X Deluxe DVD
  3. Medieval 2: Total War
  4. Nancy Drew: The Creature of Kapu Cave
  5. Neverwinter Nights 2 (DVD)
  6. The Sims 2 Happy Holiday Stuff ('tis the season, right?)
  7. Worldwide Soccer Manager 2007 (it is the game of the world - worldwide, more people are into soccer than basketball or baseball, so while many Americans don't care about this game, a lot of other people do)
  8. Crazy Machines: The Wacky Contraptions Game
  9. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004: A Century of Flight
  10. The Sims 2 Glamour Life Stuff

» US only ?

I guess these figures are for Amazon USA only, right ?People in Japan or Europe wouldn't buy an American Football game...

» Uh...

Of course it's U.S. only. How could it not be?

» Right

Well you see, Pal. PSP games are sold outside of the US. These numbers are also accounted for.

» Hey wtf

i really havent seen a hillbillie before livin in the USA but man soccer blows and you know it and we arent bad at it either if i remember we got pritty damn far this year in uhhh whachamacall it fifa is it? well anyways going by your logic you dont like football because whatever country you are from sucks at it... also that word erradicated thats kinda strong dont you think? Actually theres a pritty big hole in your statement seeing as how you assume everybody in the USA are crazy racist obese jesus loving hillbillies. Probly would mean all of us wouldn't have computers cause they be dang expensive and a sin. OH SNAP BUT THEN WE WOULDN'T BE SO OBESE!!! Its a good thing we got football to keep us busy! Also if you knew anything about our country you would know very few people like bush. And i don't really see how having contigous countries would be a solution seeing as how contigous isn't a word. You spelled retard wrong too.
