Amazon gives PSP Go their own 'price cut'

PSP Go Amazon - Image 1

Like with what the UK stores did last week, Amazon slashed off US$ 5 to the PSP Go. Looks like although the launch of Sony's UMD-less handheld led the PSP sales to skyrocket the past couple of weeks, the retailer does not have enough confidence that it will be able to sustain it, hence their own price cut.

From US$ 250, Amazon's selling it for US$ 244.99. It's not like it's gonna do much difference, but what's relevant about this move is that it's not exactly common to have retailers (or anyone for that matter) slashing off prices of a unit within the same month of its debut.

Sony has not made any comment about this action taken by Amazon, nor has the retailer itself. Do you find the PSP Go more attractive now that it's five bucks less in Amazon?

I fail to see how this is relevant. Amazon's whole schtick is taking a few dollars off of products that generally have low markups to get the advantage on brick and mortar stores. Nobody bothered to point out that amazons preorder price was $248.99, a dollar below it's MSRP, why bother mentioning this?

It`s just to fuel the PSP Go haters, I find it interesting that the PSP Go is both $250 in both CAD and USD. The difference right now is only 0.04, but it`s a different all right.

Shows how overpriced it is in the UK if retailers can afford to drop £25($40) off the £225($360) RRP.

When it comes to the price, it's more of a touch and go subject.

Until they take another $240 off, then we can talk.

# >> Also, why no replaceable battery?batanen 2009-10-12 10:48
By prevent removing the battery is probably for security. Then the battery cannot be used as a pandora. For the users this means an expensive repairing if only the battery breaks.

Yeah we all heard Sony Blah Blah Blah replacable battery Blah Blah.. They talking a load of s**t, all they had to do was make a motherboard that won't allow service mode through the battery then they could include a replacable battery, i mean you only need a pandora battery when downgrading etc so if service mode can work through the battery you just run some wires off a normal pandoras battery and do it, so either Sony is that stupid or they just being greedy.
