Activision, which was already ranked top publisher for October by the NPD, has raised its third quarter outlook and its 2008 fiscal year forecasts due to a highly successful holiday lineup which includes the celebrated Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Xbox 360, PS3, PC).

From a net revenue of US$ 2.07 billion they've raised their 2008 fiscal year outlook to US$ 2.3 billion. That's a whopping additional US$ 230,000,000. Lotsa zeroes there. They've also raised their share outlook from US$ 0.55 (per diluted share) to US$ 0.75.

Activision also raised their third quarter earnings from US$ 1.05 billion to US$ 1.225 billion. Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, PC) recently dominated the software charts and is one of the major factors for Activision raising its forecasts.
