With the June 26 launch of the second Transformers movie looming closer day by day, attention turns to the accompanying video game, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PSP, DS, PS2, PC), from Activision, which opened a demo in NYC last week. Now we've got word that the publisher is planning to offer more characters for the game as DLC.

An Activision rep told MTV Multiplayer that the publisher already has "a healthy DLC plan which will incorporate more characters." Although it wasn't specified which Autobots and/or Decepticons will be offered, the plan still has the largest Transformer character ever seen in a game in mind.

Maybe they're gonna let the fallen Megatron get his revenge through DLC?

I actually quite enjoyed the first movie game. It wasn't great but I certainly got more fun out of it than some higher rated games around. Think part of that is that I really like the movie Transformer designs and it was fun controlling them. Hopefully this game improves. Multiplayer sounds very appealing.

The new movie footage shown at the ShoWest thing is very cool too. Definitely the movie I want to see most this year.

» Great...

Another game that purposely holds back features so they can charge $$$ for them later.

What I was thinking. I never played the first game but a friend did and said he enjoyed it. That said, I probably wont play this game either but this sounds suspicious to me. If they're already planning downloadable content this early it can only mean they're just going to be releasing things that are already on your disc but only accessible with a download number you have to buy later. I wonder when the hackers out there will figure out a way to "pirate" this so I won't have to waste money on games I care about that pull stunts like this lol
