Activision - Image 1If you'd care to recall, rumors have been going around regarding Activision and their plans of giving  the development responsibilities of the Call of Duty franchise to Infinity Ward.

Well, we've got an update on this and it looks like the rumors aren't true after all. Maryanne Lataif, Activision's Vice President of corporate communications, spoke about this rumor saying that it is "erroneous information regarding the CoD franchise."

The Activision Underground studio will still be completely shut down by the end of May. This poses the question of what will happen to the games currently in development at the studio that won't be making a May release such as the new CoD which is reportedly a third person action adventure game.

Infinity Ward will save the day. COD4 is the best game that ever made off the COD franchise.
