A clearer look: Images of the new PSP Go |

It actually doesn't seem that fugly anymore. If you look closely, you'll notice that it also has Bluetooth. It still looks like a black mylo though, and the placement of the analog stick concerns me a bit. Playing games like Monster Hunter, with its cumbersome camera control setup, is gonna be hard on this thing.

Love the 16gb internal memory and that'd be the real only reason i'd buy this. one of the first pictures shown before this stuff was the concept artists renditions. and out of those the one that was more squared off looked alot better..
but just as matt said
it should'v had a second analog stick placed somewhere.
no reason for me to waste my money....my psp i currently have ( a 3001) is now homebrew capaible so it works jsut as good

Point of fact, the camera controls in MH are NOT cumbersome. More games should emulate them, since they are nearly perfect.
PSP Go! is a stupid, ugly design, and an utter disappointment.

I do agree with the point he is trying to make, that playing MH would be much more difficult on this style of PSP.

anyways, its not too bad, but there are some annoying ass flaws to it:
but it has a few very annoying little things to it:
1. i hate how sony makes the face buttons too small (reminisces about the keypad)
2. the start/select thing looks totally stupid
3. could of had a better placement for the PS button (in the top middle of the bottom half)
4. they could of easily hid the screws at the back.....
but thats just me

As you can see on Image 7, that guy's index finger is positioned there so that's probably where L1 + R1 are.
But it still looks uncomfortable... and also the analog stick + Start + Select

But it's not a step forward like from 2000 to 3000. It's more like a step to the side. Parallel to the 3000.

I will have to try this first, but if it's cheaper this may do it. I am really disappointed that it closes like this but there are no face buttons. What is the point of having such a small form factor if you still have to open it to switch songs etc....unless they make a better remote for it on the headphones.
Anyways it will fit in pockets better, and if it's cheaper I may get it......
Still I want to see the specs on this, guess we will have to wait a few days...

Did they really placed it on one of the round sides?

i do actually. Sony could just make it so the analog stick could mirror the x, o, triangle, and square buttons if moved in the same direction as the actual buttons. That way you could use either for old psp games and then new ones could make use of both the 2nd analog and buttons.

The fuuck you talking about? This isn't the PSP2 you fuucktard.
"Is there a mic? The headphone input shouts a big NO."
How do you know that there isn't a mic? Look at the iPhone, the headphone jack has a mic input. The PSP Go headphone input even has a picture of a mic. Jesus, how dumb can you be?
"no TV out"
Who told you this? Look at that Serial Port. It can do TV-Out.
"No 2nd analog stick"
There would be no point for this. Again, this isn't the PSP2 so what would you do with that 2nd analog stick for all your PSP games.
Fuuck, you have to be the dumbest motherfuucker ever.

What people seem to not think is ever thought this design maybe just what the PSP2 will look like, when it comes out? because when the PSP2 REALLY DOES COME OUT! The design for it will basically be this design.
Oh and 2 analog sticks makes PSP2 still unless there stuck to camera controls.
ITS PORTABILITY, NOT COMPLAINABILITY ! Oh great complainers.
Im betting everyone hating this design is too poor to buy one and is jealous cause I love the design. Its smaller, more compact, more light, what the perfect PSP should be. IM CORRECT!
Im buying one just because its a TRUE HANDHELD NOW!
You wanna play dirty boy, I will bring dirty, Atari Lynx, you all want this to be the atari lynx, don't you?
Big as a stupid brick, man you guys will complain about anything.
Oh yes you guys are also acting the same way, you act around the pictures of the PS3 slim. So childish, when its actually real and true.
You just don't want it to come out cause it may come with better features than your old PS3's.
The smaller the PS3, the easier it is to manufacture, thus it doesnt cost Sony nearly as much as it does to make fat PS3's which WERE killing them.
You think this is ugly, you think PS3 Slims ugly.
You think everythings ugly. All who say such and such is ugly, is truly the ugliest person of all and its almost all of you guys.

Then you would only use the second stick for better controls in shooter games.
You idea doesn't work if the game needs two Sticks and the 4 buttons.
".i find this phrase funny because they are making DSi only games."
Well, the DS(i) is selling a little bit better and has some more significant changes like camers and a faster CPU. While the PSP Go would have only had the second stick as feature that could be used in games.

3,8 inch screen instead of 4,3
43% lighter than a 3000 (which makes is 108 gram light)

Not only does this PSP Go! not have an analog stick to efficiently play games that have already come out, but there seems have no UMD for games that have already been bought, making anything obselete that came before the PSP Go other than Patapon 2.
Now about the second analog stick. If they have a second analog stick and games that use the second analog stick, what will previous PSP owners with older versions of the PSP use?
If this is the true design of the PSP Go! then Sony hadn't taken any kind of account for other PSP owners other than the ones buying the PSP Go!

Also if you own UMD games, you own a PSP already...so play them on that. This is obviously for new buyers, or ppl that don't care aboute their old UMDs.....like me.
I need a newer smaller PSP and with more memory, so i'll be glad to buy this.
They already have lot's of PSP games on PSN and i'm sure tons more will come.
I'm not sure how Sony would be able to rip UMD's unless they make a USB UMD driver that you have to use through your PS3 or something....

Does anyone else realize that this is just their way of combining the PSP and the less-than-stellar Sony Mylo device? It has almost the exact same shape, but a much more reasonable size. I liked that the Mylo had a keyboard, but I can understand that it wouldn't fit here.

I have a launch PSP, that is fat and beat up from years of use. I don't mind giving up the few games I have to upgrade to a better screen, smaller/lighter system, onboard memory and what seems to be better speakers as well....also I don't play the games much, usually use it for music and movies.
Also, who knows, if they put all original PSP games up for downoad, maybe sony will allow you to download them for free if you register your original copies UPC code or something...
The big question is how much if any cheaper this will be.....
