Evergreen Events announced plans for a full-scale Global Games Summit (GGS) event on May 7-9, 2007 in Seattle. GGS is an annual event for senior game industry executives from around the world and focuses on the development and distribution of digital games in a global marketplace.
According to its organizers, 2007 GGS will address the trend towards globalization to help game companies establish business relationships with important game markets such as India, China, and Brazil. The overall games market is growing rapidly. Worldwide, the games market revenues reached $29 billion in 2005, $12 billion of that coming from North America. By 2011, the games market is expected to hit $44 billion with $26 billion coming from outside North America.
