0okm: "Blue PSP (PSP1000MB) with FW 3.01 is HardDown-able" |

Ó

Recently, 0okm's been showing up (and down) across our PSP blog like white on rice. He's everywhere - as pretty much the rest of the PSP homebrew gods are. One of the more recent updates to his site reveals some interesting details on the new blue PSP (PSP-1000 MB), which was released last December 21.
For some of you guys who might have received this specimen of PSP for Christmas, you might be glad to hear a couple of things. Here's 0okm's notes on the hardware:
PCB Ver. : TA-086
CPU Core : CXD2967GG
Media Engine : CXD5026-203GG
MCP : K5E5658ACM-D060 1.8V/1.8V
Test report :
Factory FW3.01 (BoxCode M)
can HardDown to FW1.50 :)
The core of the matter here are his test reports, and they're pretty much self-explanatory. The new PSP already comes with a homebrew-biting firmware 3.01, but the thumbs-upper here is that he says that he can downgrade the system firmware to enable homebrew at 1.50.
So, as things stand now, it's not just a white Christmas, but a blue one too!

But anyhow, this is awesome. Wouldn't it also be plausible to upgrade to 3.02 OE-A?

specially the homebrew-ridden ones!
downgraders released to the public are SOFTDOWNS
or Software Downgrade.
NOT Hard-downgraders, which to give all of you an idea is to manually take apart a piece of hardware (ex.PSP) and modify its internal wares, such as replacing a FLASH1 chip with a mod-chip. in ookm's case, PERHAPS he is wiring the NAND chip to a "special computer equipment" that rewrites the BIOS of the PSP and creates a 1.5 firmware revision in it. or he replaced the flash chip with the same chip that has 1.5
so all you 2.81 or higher people can only wait for a proper SOFTDOWN downgrader for your psp's. except if your a very close friend of ookm! ^_^

i believe the points he shows in the picture are the points you need to access the internal memory... something most psp's dont have

Actually, he's correct. Harddown means it has to be hardware modified, like a modchip. Too bad QJ has perpetuated the retarded idea that harddown means LOL ANYONE CAN DOWNGRADE!
