Here's what he had to say about it ('cause we wouldn't dare misquote him on anything if we paraphrase his statement):
IT IS IN! The analog is in the PSP now, well bore of it sticks out to the faceplate but it still works. And to have a working prototype to go off of that's a great thing to have...it took a lot of work but it was worth it totally..
So there. We totally understand if he seemed pretty frazzled composing that. After all, excitement in heavy doses do affect your overall system. Anyway, he also says that he's currently writing a tutorial on how to this the way he did it. You can expect it to be out some time this week. Also, the supplies you'll be needing are available at the Acidmods.com E-store, so at least now you know where to get them.

Guys, you can OBVIOUSLY see the anolog stick.
Of course there is a chance that this is a fake...
But first: If you try to look more closely, you can clearly see the right "analog" stick. (as far as I know, it still isn't really analog)
And second: Most PSP-videos are filmed in a dark enviroment because otherwise the display would reflect too much and everyone would go, like:
"That has to be fake, you can't even see what he is playing!!!11!1oneeleven!"
They're all just blind fools. They can't even see the bloody right analog stick. Why would he play in the dark? I agree with the answer given above = The psp's screen is BRIGHT, so the CONTRAST makes it better for the camera to "see" the screen. The one asking about what the game is is also rather lazy. Is it that hard to read the comment to see if someone already answered your question? Really, i ask you. Some people don't even think before commenting...
sure you can see the analog stick.But if you have ever taken a psp apart you will see there is no room on the right side for a second analog stick.So obviously this is a well thought out prank
It could be real, you can clearly see the analog stick. But like the guy above said, there's no room. And I noticed his thumb isn't sync with his movement. For example, look at 00:08 he moves his thumb down but nothing happens... Then when the screen does go down he quickly moves his thumb down again.

why does everyone have doubt about this??? they did the ghetto (left AND right) stick mod, this is just an analog stick soldered on the regular button triggers, what's so amazing about that??? (I don"t mean to take the mod down, it's still GREAT and takes skills to achieve it)
acidmod team are currently working on a new power board so that the new analog stick doesn't stick out of the faceplate...

ok this is not a fake, there are reasons it was shot int the dark...actualy no reason i just have crappy lighting and it was late at night...
another thing! this is a prototype and dosent always preform at optimum capability. when i press down once sometimes it does nothing due to poor connection.. so i have to try to make it work again..
its not a prank, or a hoax, or a fake.. THIS IS REAL!! IT REALLY WORKS, we are developing it into a solderless ad on mod so everyone can have one not just the slodering pros..
There is no room inside the psp for this mod.That is why people have doubts.The power connector is in the way so there isnt enough room to put another analog stick.Take your psp apart if you dont believe me.H3ll everyone who doesnt believe me take your faceplate off and see there is no room what so ever

In order to prove that this is real.Make another video.One in which your psp is turned completely off.Then on the video you turn the psp on show us your firmware then do something to prove its real.Then boot the game.Then start the game and move the analog stick around.This is the only way to prove it is 100% real.
I made another video but i didnt turn it off then on and do all that stuff but since there are so many ppl that are so sceptic i will do it
now that i think about it i really dont need to prove anything to anyone, i know it works and i know we are designing it so you can just change your faceplate with one of ours and it will work.. so when that time comes buy one or dont buy one.. and if for some unforseen reason it dosent make it that far i will release all the photos and a vid on how exactly it works..
but you will see.. this is going to become a reality for everyone to own a psp with 2 working analogs...
however i still am uploading a vid of the firmware check..and i did it using the analog so u could see it works..you have already see it in gameplay so im not going to include that vid...

This is an easy mod, guys. I'm sure it's not fake. Although it's not really an 'analog' stick, just an 8-point direction stick.
The external analog stick mod is more difficult than this one.
Quick ? are you gonna be molding a flat/matte black finish for the faceplate also when will you know a price range for the faceplate? Cause I'd imagine with the rubber housing and analog nub attachment it's gonna add up.
You keep avoiding posting pic's and vid's about the analog. Why? Are you afraid someone will copy your work?
Is it 8-point only? You can't shoot with 8-point! But ofcourse you could switch view and movement.
You know what? I don't even care for the analog that much. Shooters are meant for the PC.
Thats so true everything you posted in the last post.But the only i repeat ONLY! shooter that is any good to me is medal of honor.It is a bad@S5 game to me.What i love most is the skirmish mode.Its like an online deathmatch without going online.You can play up to 16 computers in skirmish mode.I think it is 7x better than socom and 100x better than syphon filter
Even if it's real, this is useless. It's a digital stick, not an analog. The best way to do something like this is make a circuit that will close the button contacts a certain frequency so it seems like analog. Like if it's all the way over it will be the same as holding the button down, but halfway it will activate the button half the time really fast. Of course it would be hard to fit the stick and extra circuitry inside the psp so I'd just forget about trying.
I can create a two step switch with an oscillating chip which will close and open the circiut with a pulse then when you push it further it will fully open the switch.. But it would have to be an add on to our original plans..

i think it might be fake, because is there enough room in a PSP to add such a mode as that? also you see the reaction time from when he moves the analog stick to when the character actually moves? it appears he is faking it, like a video and he memorized the movements to fake it, get it?
