The IC respnsible to the Sound Reactive Led Mod - Image 1AcidMods R&D team member F00 f00 dropped us a note a while ago about the latest PlayStation Portable (PSP) mod that has been the cause of discussion among their forum members.

It's called the Sound Reactive Led Mod and as the name implies, the shoulder buttons blink and react depending on what's playing on your handheld unit. F00 f00 also told us that a lot of people were a bit skeptic if this was even possible. To prove that this can be done, their team posted a video on YouTube. The team also mentioned that the nitty-gritty on how this was done will be provided later, but for the most part, this mod involves removing the mobo.

The picture you can see on the right is the IC responsible for the Sound Reactive Mod. Theoretically, this should allow the mod to be wired to the PSP's internal speakers but for now, the team had to make do with external ones.

Well it was the real lyrics, and that was ton loc singing them, but that background music was sped up and remixed a little.

» left and right...

That would also be interesting if they could configure the leds to blink independently according to the audio channels ( right and left). Then you would have one blink when the song went to right channel only like some songs do :D. I would do this to my PSP, but I would use green I guess. Cool mod ;)

» I love how

I love how every time somebody sees a Hardware mod its fake (IE. Benheck and this) its like total bull*****, just cause some of you don't know how to do it doesn't mean others can't.
