French PSP modder Flasher gave us something flashy today with his new PSP DualShock 2 hardware mod. It's not finished, but so far, it's already looking hella good.

Said Flasher (courtesy of Google Translate):

Since I am the psp I wanted to put a ps2 controller off before I did not think I'll manage to make micro welding but also bring a valiant heart nothing is impossible ....

So as you can see I have 11 micro solder the connector on the psp to the direction arrow, the buttons and triggers validation.

I will add more than a longer distance and put a heat-shrinkable sleeve for better aesthetics.

You can have a look at the mod in action in this link right here. Meanwhile, here are some pictures.

» Dude awesome!

He's the PSP! EVERYTHING MAKES SENSE NOW!!1

Anyways, this is pointless. If you really wanted this you would simply use the program that lets you play your psp on your pc monitor (I always forget the name of it) because it can also let you play your psp with a pc gamepad while its plugged.

Use a PS3 controller there, and you're good to go. No modding. Whoop-dee-doo. Who actually walks around playing psp and not bumping into things anyways? Then you have ambience; use headphones and you'll get hit by a car. Good for bus rides or air flights I guess..

m3rox, you should refrain from typing any comments, just $hit comes out from your writting.

» Not bad....

However whats with the three ugly usb ports on the back. He should have used an Ipod male/female connector. That would look cleaner than having a load of random ports.

I like it but PSPgen should stick to firmware modding and leave the hardware stuff to acidmods.

» Not the first

This mod has been done before, even posted here on pspupdates.

The other one had integrated the dual shock in one of those psp bases for car and also used usb ports for the connection (2 on each side because the 2nd analog nub was also imitating the x[]/\O keys).

It was like having a dual shock 2 with screen.

» whats the point

Well even modding has a point but dont u just kill portablility

of a console by doing that im pretty sure that this was obvious in the name of the damned console PSPORTABLE but as usual not all of the world actually gets that.

TBQFH i feel that the only mods that should be done are cool stuff done at acidmods like the freaking second control nub or wadeva u call it cuz it would make fps controls alot more solid and i cant understand why M$ Has yet to come in with a portable console with a second analog nub just to go to $ony and say FFFFFFUUUUUU.

» crap..

if you want the dual shock 2 so badly just play games on the ps2.. leave the psp alone.. but its none of my business anyway.. so do what you wanna do with your psp.. hehe..

» comment failurez

whats the point of this comment? At least he's no *****ing up the case, who cares if he got to many usb ports, at least it looks good and not all *****ed up. Lets see you do this mod better; then your "Epic Fail" comment might have SOME merit. Being able to use pandora doesn't make you 1337 h4x0rz either; my 13 year old sister fixed my spare psp with my hardmodded pandora kit. its not hard.
