Ó
Tony Hoang, also known as PvP, has informed us that he has created a PlayStation Portable mod that's geared towards players who love playing first-person shooters. You can check out a pic of the FPS PSP at the right. Here's a list of what PvP has done to the FPS PSP:
- removed stock analog nub
- cover stock analog nub hole with glue and painted it
- remove speakers from previous location and placed them on top of the PSP
- removed UMD drive
- external analog sticks
- usb mod
- sealed up charger port with glue and painted it slightly
- see thru jewel on UMD door
- preparing PSP for 'UMD storage device' mod that I'm working on

ugly
I was with him up until he said he removed the UMD drive. I guess if you have a CFW then you can play games via ISOs, but not all games work that way. Also he covered up yhe charging port so now he has to take out the battery to charge it, that's kinda dumb.
hell yeah dat shi* is ugly as fu**

learn to read newbs. he said that he did a usb mod which means he doesnt need the ac port any more and he said that theres no cosmetics done to it so it looks rough. like u can do ne thing better than that!
That looks absolutely ridiculous! I don't care how well it works on FPS's! Hideous! Absolutly Hideous!

maybe u should play against him on adhoc and try to get 1 kill off of him. i kind of like that idea of having actual analog sticks. im guessing he has superior control on FPS. and yea you guys need to read. he did say he did a usb mod and he did say that there is no cosmetic modding done to it so it does look like crap
Doesn't get much more uncomfortable...
I agree it does look quite ugly but if theres no cosmetics done to it then I guess it's ok. Yea I bet he probably owns at FPS! And yes do learn to read before you flame him.

Actually I can do better than this since I have done the modification where I can use a PS2 controller on my PSP. I also added the led trigger mod too these modifications aren't that hard if you know how to solder.
itd be fun to try it out on fps and see how well it handles!
I am generally very supportive of mods....But I just really don't like this...
1) Why external sticks that stick out too far and are unwieldy? The Razor Nub would work much better imo. Granted, it is a nub, which seems to really bother some people...I dunno. Just on the bottom? That far out?
2) No UMD drive...oookay....yeah, so it can load 'em through the USB...but that destroys all semblance of portability. I like my PlayStation Portable portable.
3? Why move the speakers? Just why? Can someone clarify that for me? I'm sure there is a point (otherwise he wouldn't do it) but I don't see it. Someone?
And of course, I like aesthetic things, so the lack of cosmetic work really does turn me off. Not saying it can't be fixed though--I'm sure it will be later.
Props to this guy for modding. Just...I don't get your mod dude...
thats really ugly
f00 f00 has sumthng better lookin thatn that. check the link below, its a better mod than this!!!

Umm...considering the 2nd analog stick will be tied into the x, o, square, and triangle buttons, he is going to have the same control as I have with my un-modded PSP, and therefore I would whoop anyone using this mod.
well if you took time to read his forums hes modding his umd input to attempt to install a storage device through the umd input. i think it does look hideous but u know what if he can own in fps, more power to him. i read his forum, he said that it sounds a lot more clearer and crisp. maybe ill do that to mine but i do like my slick look right now...
if you look at the photo, the standard speaker positions seem to be covered up, so he put em up there.
and screw UMDs.
From the looks of it i cant see it being verry useable
I agree, it is ugly, though i don't think you'd care about how ugly it is when you play it. (Well, except if you play it on a public place)
If you read around Acidmods forums, you can see he removed the umd drive with hopes of working on some sort of other media, a hard drive or such.
