PSP UMD door Mod: See your PSP's insides |
Ó
As far-fetched as it sounds, we were thinking that when we picked up this short video clip cannae45 posted over at youtube. Nothing fancy here - he just remade his PSP UMD door with a viewing port, which allowed the user to get an eyeful of the UMD's metal cradle, and the title of whatever game he pops into the console. Sure, it ain't as pimpin' as a light-up door, or even a PSP port of the PS2 analog stick, but like we said, there's an elegance to subtle but practical mods like these we love. Enjoy the vid.

this is coool :D
im gonna do it
Cool I guess. Hopefully the laser doesn't shine through (I know I've seen red while closing the disc door before.) This should come with a disclaimer so the n00bs don't go blind.
wow, That looks cool. But is it strong?
There's a reason why its covered, its ugly!
Thats a pretty good cut and it looks like there's no sign of modding, but cuz I know I'm gonna ***** my psp up with 95% chance, I try that later ;)
I just got 3 smashed psp given to me, and the doors are still intact, guess what i am trying when i get a minute. Anyone have an idea what type of plastic? It must be pretty thin.
If you use plexiglass, yes it is very strong.
why the f**k would you wana do this to your psp? looks like a pile of sh**

This mod was done first at acidmods.com
this is old as hell, lamma.com started this **** acidmod.com is new
acidmods.com isnt new. They have been around for a while. If you really think so go to acidmods.com and talk to them.
This is quite litterally the ugliest mod I have seen yet, why would anybody want to make their PSP look as ugly as that.
To make it unique perhaps?
This is really gay! Why would you want to do that? Get a free psp! http://www.xpango.com?ref=90049183
Shut the ***** up spammer.
oh the things you would have to do just to get a preview of a nice emulator on its early development stages. judging by the video i think its running at 5-12 fps, yeah not yet playable, so we have to wait! the bad thing was if you want to download and preview it, you have to learn such language. didn't the author know thats its not just their own kind of people thats interested in such a nice software? why didn't they consider a worldwide release? why restrict download for only those who can read their language? access refuse
please delete my post above, wrong topic!
it would probly look pritty sick if u could put some LEDs on it
They shine through and make a nice circle around the window
This is kind of a cool mod, though if you kept the UMD door mechanism covered and just left a small window that shows the disc and none of the metal it would be a much more cool mod.
