PSP mod meister F00 f00 emailed us earlier about a PSP modding project he's just finished for customer Lifey, along with an attached video to demonstrate what the unit can do. Aside from the highly visible LED light mods on the handheld, another tweak F00 f00 mentioned was USB-charge capability. As for the video proper:

In case you blinked, here's a quick list on what F00 f00 added to the unit:

  1. Clear case (installed by lifey )
  2. 4 LEDs music pulsing
  3. Wifi/mem/power to blue
  4. USB Charging
  5. Dual nub (with lower profile)
  6. Hold switch for lighting on/off
Guys interested in getting their PSPs worked over may have to wait - F00 f00 mentioned that he's got a waiting list for other modding jobs. We thank him for letting us in on this project, and do hope we'll be hearing more about his upcoming works.

» Nice mod.

All I want to know is how to attach a second analog like the one in the video, on my psp. Its really hard for me to figure out the diagrams to attach a few wires in my psp. I really want a diagram and the step to do this dual analog process.

» Damn...

That is hella impressive. It seems that with each successive PSP mod that comes out, it just keeps getting better. The lights and clear case were a little excessive for my tastes, but very well done. The USB charging was a nice touch, too. However, the best thing was clearly the second analog nub. This completely proves that if an independent person, working without the backing of a huge corporation, can make a handheld with dual analogs, so could have Sony.

I mean, I love my PSP, but what the hell were they thinking?

» U S B Charging!

Why didn't Sony make it like that already for the psp? Why? Old Palm devices can charge through the usb.

by lol - 2007-04-24 17:20
» nope

notice how the 2nd analog nub is directly on top of the original charging slot. the charging slot has to be removed to make room for the 2nd analog nub, so you have to include usb charging or your psp wont have power

by dsa - 2007-04-25 18:20
» lol

imagine if he bricked his PSP, lol

by lifey - 2007-04-26 02:33
» brick

then i would buy another 1...

hope that answers your question....:)
