Now we've certainly seen our share of PSP mods over the years, from the sound reactive mods to the over the top custom PSP's, but check out this uber-cool mod courtesy of JoblessPunk. The JP Edition PSP mod features two analog nubs, 32GB flash memory, second USB port for charging and internal camera all all rolled into one neat package.

» Awesome mod!!!

I wish I could mod my PSP slim like that.

by ThirstyCow - 2009-10-04 18:00
» ?

It said 32 GB of flash memory, does that mean its internal. So it can act as RAM to speed up the PSP to possibly play NDS and N64 games without fault?

by unggoy - 2009-10-04 18:03
» awesome girl!!!

i wish i could mod my gf like that girl.. hehe..

by psp2 - 2009-10-04 18:03
» Sony wont learn nothing from this.

Ok first that girl is hott

second, like seriously she didnt know what a rumble feature was, not to be a douche or nothing lmao. Im more than certain she has a cellphone.

Third, this just proves a handheld console can do it big through MASS MEDIA!!! That guy didnt leave no features out!!!! He totally went there!!!

Somebody email this video to a sony executive immediately!!! Oh my gosh, and be all like "in yo face BAM!!!" He may have broke reality lol just because he modded a psp and put everything in it, in which sony makes it seem as though its impossible.

by ov3rkill - 2009-10-04 18:43
» rumble feature is cool.

but wrong term for her. she doesn't understand what rumble is. try vibrator feature. hehe. j/k

nice mod.

» That Midori chick is hot

I'd beat that ***** up. :P.

Anyways. They spelled "modder" wrong. They put "moder."

by Foolmonkey - 2009-10-04 19:52
» No

It's not RAM, just memory. The RAM cannot be modded.

by UltimateNoob - 2009-10-04 20:22
» 2nd Nub

Awesome mod, but whats the 2nd Nub for, because i'm pretty sure psp games don't use a 2nd nub

by Foolmonkey - 2009-10-04 20:29
» ...

It's for shooters. Did you even watch the whole video? It clearly shows him playing FPS games and using the 2nd nub.

by DFresh - 2009-10-04 20:40

» DUAL NUBS!!!

THAT WAS SO FAKE IT MADE ME LAUGH!!!

» An alternate option for 32gb of storage.....

You can also purchase a photofast 2x microsd converter card and 2 16gb class 6 microsdhc cards (all availible from amazon.com, I paid ~$90 altogether, $9.99 for the photofast adapter and $39.99 for each 16gb microsdhc) and format them as one 32gb memory stick with your format memory stick option on your psp. Read speed is great and no lag on my games or media.

Maximum spec is 32GB though, I wouldn't try more, It's not very cost effective once you start going above 16gb cards anyway. FAT32 file system has a 32gb limit for stability if i remember correctly too.

Either way, my small collection of home dumped games and massive collection of music works out especially well alongside the Hold+ plugin (availible for both 5.00 m33 and 5.50 Gen-B2) to underclock for music playing use and I get up to 20 hours of battery life (longest I went without charging it).

Definitely cheaper than buying an iPod if you already own a psp and want more storage.

» The best part:

Knowing that he was completely uninterested in her.

[/gaydar]

by Yoshio_- - 2009-10-04 21:35
» LOL!

A dual mode OMG!!! expresion LOLed too much xDDDDDD

we can forgive her, she´s hot isnt she? hehehe

by PsychoUsagi - 2009-10-04 22:06
» Did you read what he wrote?

He didn't ask if it was RAM. He said that since it said "flash memory" which is generally much faster than a Memory Stick, if the installed "flash memory" could ACT as RAM, though I don't see much about the 32 GB of flash memory on the site. Perhaps just a hoax anyway.

by YAMI ANUBIS X - 2009-10-04 22:22
» Whats so special about this? modders have been doing this since PSP fat

This is OLD stuff, in my point of view, hes getting credit for stuff that a website did AKA Acid mods.

Acid Mods were the first to create 32 gig internal memory, internal camera and last but not least 2nd analog stick.

This guy is taking credit from them. Oh its pretty much true that Acid mods have been doing this for YEARS.

Acid mods were the first to create all of this for both PSP original and PSP slim. THIS NEWS IS OLD!

If you want proof that Acid mods have been doing these mods since 2005, go google ACID MODS!

by godmind - 2009-10-04 22:49
» *sigh*

i wish i could touch the hot girl's dual nubs. :)

by FreePlay - 2009-10-04 23:15
» WTF.

What is broken in you people that makes you think she's attractive?

by godmind - 2009-10-05 00:03
» @Freeplay

I think few people agree with me when I say she's hot. Come to think of it, she's quite pretty, she's a singer of the band and she owns a psp.

Just think of the tricks she could do to your "mic". And at least both of you have something in common to talk to (i.e. psp, etc.) if she's not doing her tricks with your tool.

I can't see a guy would decline her unless that guy, well, prefers other guys...

by Foolmonkey - 2009-10-05 00:47
» ...

First of all, memory sticks ARE flash memory (you idiot). Second, if you were to use say a high speed compact flash card in the psp, it still wouldn't make it any faster. This is a PSP we're talking about here. Its limiting factor is its CPU. No matter how fast the card is rated, the PSP is not going to read it that fast.

by Foolmonkey - 2009-10-05 00:51
» Well,

if you wanna be all precise. She's not ugly, and she is slightly above average. It is easier to just say hot, therefore we shall.

by 93pauott - 2009-10-05 02:49
» Well...

Too bad it's not fake then.

by 93pauott - 2009-10-05 02:51
» Opinions.

You, above most people here, should know that.

by FearEvil19 - 2009-10-05 03:01
» Well

Welcome to the internet

by Aces In The Palm - 2009-10-05 03:15
» agree with foolmonkey

he mod the second nub to the map of the buttons

eg, up would trigger triangle, down X, left [] and right O

by Aces In The Palm - 2009-10-05 03:27
» cool

now play a UMD!!!

lol

i know theres not alot of places to put a camera, but if CFW ever slows to a halt, and theres no decryptor released, you dont even have the option of running UMD's on OFW and using DCv8 for m33 emulation.

by Aces In The Palm - 2009-10-05 03:38
» actually

theres no way to dump your UMD's

clever, very clever /sarcasm

by GLO13AL_T3RROR - 2009-10-05 05:32
» awsome!

This is pretty damn cool!

by megasxlr01 - 2009-10-05 06:36
» idk.....

Idk but wouldn't sony want to take this guy to court for making a market for illegal modding.

I'm just saying because of the thing that happened not to long ago to a guy that was modding consoles and making a profit from it.

Anyway, I know some of you guys are going to start saying that psp belongs to the owner and not to sony and that we can do what ever we want with our psps.

Well if your going to start an illegal modding business please don't be stupid enough to put it on the internet where a sony associate can see it. Then the next thing you know you are going to have a lawsuit on you a**.

Plus I don't think this guy could a lawyer.

Anyway that's what I think...... yeah

by symbal - 2009-10-05 07:34
» 64gb?

If someone made a mod for an internal dual adapter with 2x32gb sd cards without needing to drill holes all over i'd be more interested.

by Yoshio_- - 2009-10-05 07:50
» Once again...DUAL NUBS!!!

DUAL NUBS OH YEAH! Shake that dual nubs, baby! OH YEAH!

xDDDDDDDDDDD

by cboushell75 - 2009-10-05 10:49
» Know what you're talking about

Hey $hit for brains go check out Acid Mods if you think its fake, its actually a mod that has been around for a while

by FelisCatusLover - 2009-10-05 11:00
» ...

Ugly piercings in that guy.

by _YOUR_MOM_ - 2009-10-05 11:44
» Suprised QJ hasn't deleted this bugmenot account

Or you could get a life and get a real girlfriend and stop fantasizing about what a girl in a video about a modded PSP would do to your "mic".

Maybe some people don't find her attractive because they aren't nerds who have never gotten any from a girl before.

by Mr Toasty - 2009-10-05 12:57
» I think

Thirsty is asking if the flash memory is attached directly to the motherboard, which would indeed make it faster than a memory stick if they used the right bus. However, most flash cards still use the USB bus and I'm betting this is no different, which would make it about the same speed as a Memory Stick.

Secondly, Foolmonkey you're wrong. Just because the read speed won't be increased doesn't mean the PSP wouldn't benefit from the increase in virtual ram. If that were the case then virtual ram in a PC for example would be useless. (and it isn't, since almost everyone recommends that you have at least twice as much virtual ram as you have physical ram)

by TheRockness - 2009-10-05 13:43
» Freeplay

You're the one worrying about whether the guy is gay or not... now you're unsure what makes a female attractive???????? Haha

by truk - 2009-10-05 14:04
» @freeplay

hahahahahahaaaa aaa

anyway cool mod

by truk - 2009-10-05 14:11

» sony...

please hire people like this for your PSP team

by symbal - 2009-10-05 15:09
» Remember

Sony aren't interested in hiring people that do things the customers want, Sony has this wonderfull business plan of telling the customers what they should buy, make huge financial losses and make people hate them.. But i'm sure this is all part of their 10 year strategy.

by unggoy - 2009-10-05 15:56
» hmm..

maybe she havent tried using a dildo yet?.. which also has a rumble feature..

by unggoy - 2009-10-05 15:59
» lol..

me too..

by unggoy - 2009-10-05 16:01
» ..

FreePlay -- gay

by Foolmonkey - 2009-10-05 16:04
» Idiot.

It wouldn't act as virtual memory as the PSP doesn't even have virtual memory you ignorant retard. PC's have a page file, PSP does not. A memory stick in a PSP does not act the same way as a HDD in a PC OS. Now if any INTELLIGIBLE people would like to prove me wrong, be my guest.

by unggoy - 2009-10-05 16:06
» ...

*sigh*

in reality, those people who are bragging about sex or getting laid are the ones who actually dont get some action..

by SCLakitu - 2009-10-05 20:21
» I wouldn't.

She sounds really annoying.

by lunas - 2009-10-05 23:11
» Nothing works that way

Psp has only 3 types of memory thus only 3 buses one is the flash bus the ms runs on this is probably what he connected into he also broke his psp by removing the umd drive.

the flash chip the firmware runs off of is 32 meg in the 1000 series and 64 meg in the 2000 and 3000 the 1000 has 32 meg of ram and the 2000 3000 and go have 64 meg...

Now hypothetically speaking it might be possible to either stack or swap the ram chip with a 64meg chip from a slim or perhaps stack it in the slim but the problem would be the firmware would not address the additional memory so a very low level rewrite of the firmware might allow that but it is hard to say if you would gain anything from that... now that said potentially the 1000 series could have the rom and ram swapped for a slim series and gain the benefits from the slim... a flash from a slim would be required and it may or may not work at all depends on if the slim firmware will work properly on the 1000 series board... but now this has come to a point where your making your own psp motherboard far more hassle than it is worth as you can just go out get a 2000/3000 series and be done with it would probably be cheaper than modding the 1000 motherboard to have the slim's ram anyway...

the go has 64 meg ram and 16 gig user space that also houses the system software... and can be doubled by a m2 16 gig which is the max size that type of memory is specified out to be so any one hoping for a 32 gig m2 is out of luck... the ms pro duo however is maxed out at 2 TB so eventually a update to the 1000/2000/3000 and any others that will use the ms pro duo could have 2 Terabyte of flash space...
