Media Molecule co-founder Alex Evans has revealed that they will soon be launch a web-based LittleBigPlanet portal where users can advertise their levels and queue downloads for the next time they play the game.

In an interview with 1Up, Evans explained that the portal will let players simply send other LBP players a custom link to their levels to make sharing easier. "Rather than going on forums and saying, 'Please search for my level,' you can just say, 'Here's a link'," Evans said.

The portal will also have leaderboards, photos, comments, and an API that can be used to create LBP-related apps. The portal and the API are undergoing beta tests and will be launched "as soon as possible".

Evans also revealed that a new, ongoing beta test is in the works for LBP. This will let players try out new features before they're rolled out. Another interesting thing Evans mentioned pertains to the PSP version of LBP, which he calls "the first game". Hmm. An LBP PSP series? Sounds good, Mr. Evans.

» Man!

Sounds awesome. I love that MM are still expanding the game, and adding new lovely features. I'd love to sit at home, creating a level, and then bring it with me on my PSP, to show friends. That would be sweet!

» Maybe...

It seems that the PSP will be completely digital sooner or later and so perhaps by the "first game" he means that you'll be able to purchase & download expansion packs for LBP PSP.
