the video output is the only thing going for it, they could have done more to it and first.
sweetness. how do i watch the video?
Double RAM could be helpful if they get homebrew running on it.
I'm getting one.
dang i just watch it. if it was hackable and iso playable would be awesome on the tv.
lol, he said that the loading times would increase. but he means that it would increase the speed
I hope the Star Wars version comes with a memory stick.
if i buy the output video...i can play with the normal psp ?
What else could they have done? Do you think Sony is a miracle worker or something!
I really doubt it when any company makes a revision they usualy tend to the support the newer one :( but if you can sell your current one you can easily buy a new one than wait for some Hacks
this info was all known since the 3rd day of e3, it was on a video at gamespot that i saw way back when
First, this new version isnt much "slimmer" cept for the bubble on the back is now gone. The only new features are...
1.less battery life. yay!! 5-6 hours unless u buy more accessories to play for 10.
2. the tv out so u can play your psp on tv... not that thats worth buying it for considering the point is for it to be portable...
3."double the ram" so 64mb of ram im guessing? and thats good.
Only problem with this is new firmware and likely no hacks cause the psp scene has found most of them and they got fixed. so buying a new one will prolly put you in a position where u wait for ages for a hack. like the zune where its been out almost a year and no real hacks.(only attempts.)
I wonder if the ad-hoc still works properly with the TV output. My friends and I used to always hook up on Mondays to play a round of Monster Hunter Freedom and gather around a couch or something. It'd be awesome if we could put a few TVs in a room or perhaps a few different rooms and kick back on the bed or sofa and play the games like that co-op.
This comment almost brought tears to my eyes. I usually hate sifting through the crap that people post in the comments on this site. "Sony sucks." "Is this it?" "DS R00Lz0Rz" Everyone is always being so damn pessimistic when it comes to the PSP Slim.
Then there's this guy. 'Reneid Klein'. I salute you, bro. You've taken what everyone else is shooting down and found a unique need for it.
Thank you for improving your system, Sony. At least someone appreciates it
Looks like I could snap it in half without effort. UMD drive looks like crap.
No second right analog, which is what it needs ahead of even TV out. The extra RAM is a welcome change, but it would've been better if it sported extra loads of internal flash memory, at least something like 16GB. Who knows, perhaps now with the extra RAM, the web browser won't run like the ***** it is now.
what is it with dumb*****s like L0gik suck a knut
first off, the tv out isn't sony 's idea. It's Team extender's idea(PSP2TV). Sony copied them but with code supporting it.
TV out is prolly one reason I'll get one because I have a a hell of alot of movies.
Umd Movies are on the cheap nowadays anyway.
I bet about three weeks after release, there will be a Hello World!.
Long Live HomeBrew!
TV is more than anything Nintendo has ever done with their portables. Nintendo never added more RAM either.
Yah think? Derrr!
and many people said before... can't have another analog stick because with will change the control of the system... the TV out is for movie fans like I'm... the UMD will be welcome now... a portable DVD player and at home... but this needed to be created in the beginning I know... for the extra ram more than welcome.. less loading time... and... 16gb of internal memory? are you serious?... and for the web browser I really hope so.. really... and they need to make their web browser to run more faster... in the psp and ps3... I love the web browser in the PS3 just to not have to turn on the computer if I have the PS3 on and to check news and everything but is damn slow for me... and sometime.. out of memory too... but the new people is really cool.... don't like it? don't buy it.. but a multimedia fan like me... of course... and remembr people.. isn't a PSP2... so stop the bash
The PSP is slim already - do you want it to be paper thin or something!?
This new slim version is only another attempt to increase security against hacking...
Its got to get hacked first!
And then the iPhone which was hacked within a week.
If only they had these features when it launched, which they could have easily done. At least the extra RAM anyway, that wouldnt cost them much.
If this gets hacked, then im selling mine and getting a new one. If i can sell mine for enough money.
I own one of the original psp's but I want this one! Playing Metal Gear Portable Ops on my Sony Bravia will be hella cool! Yes a second analog was on my wishlist but you can't just change all the hardware I guess. Screw it though slimmer and better battery makes it good.
I like the Slim and I want to get it but theres something that might not want me to get it. You know how the PSP has an 'ass'? The Slim doesn't have it so it will be uncomfortable for me to play it after a while.
im hoping someone, like acidmods, can mod IR back into the PSP-Slim. My PSP is pretty much my TV remote, not to mention digital camera, mp3 player, GPS system, gaming device, and drum machine XD
why cant the games fit to the whole screen on the tv. thats stupid
A correction on your last point sir.
"like the zune where its been out almost a year and no real hacks.(only attempts.)"
(only *****ty attempts.)
You think they would at least do the review on a Sony TV instead of pluggin LG... Rookie error
whats to keep us from using the internal parts
that allows for Video out on the Slim and connect it to the PSP-1000? It's just a matter of getting it connected right and installing the CFW that supports Video out. I believe this is totally capable of being used inside of the PSP-1000's. After all, Video out and updated 64mb RAM are the only perks to the new system really.
It'll look horrible. The games weren't designed to be on 30"+ screens.
And ext, Nintendo have never needed to add more RAM, what use would it have ever been to devs? They wouldnt make a new version exclusive games because most people would still have the original, so it would be pointless. Still dont know how the PSP's going to use it, unless they're planning on loading common files into it to increase the loading speed.
You idiots really believe that just because they release a new PSP, it's sole intent is to screw you over in every possible way? They aren't going to give up on upgradeable firmware just because a few *****s steal isos.
What "less" battery life? It uses less POWER, and therefore the battery holds less charge, not less play time. 6 hours'd be more than my current PSP ever gets anyway; ten hours would be amazing.
If they wanted that, they'd just release new PSPs with the latest FW that can't be flashed, they wouldn't bother making it better. They know retards like you won't buy it anyway because of this massive conspiracy theory.
its not a Sony excutive showing it off numb nuts...
the cable connecting the psp to the tv gets plugged in on the bottom of the psp. i was imagining it to plug into the headphones jack like video ipods. that disappoints me because then you have to buy a special wire.
If i get a slim i want to able to downgrade. when i bought my first psp it was for the games till i learnd about homebrew now i just want a new 1.50 slim psp.

NOT SONY? HOWD U WRK THAT 1 OUT THEN?
it has firmware 3.60
i don't have a psp so this is great for back to school! i need a portable system i still use my gameboy! i haven't bought a portable system since then so now i'm looking forward to soething new! does anyone know when the star wars special edition is coming out?
