Screenshot of Insomniac Games' Resistance 2 - Image 1Following up on an interview conducted with Ted Price during DICE 2008, MTV Multiplayer continued a discussion on Resistance 2 with the Insomniac Games president. The interview talked about some of the new changes in the upcoming sequel as well as the future of the series.

While some screenshots of the game have already been leaked by the mysterious Surfer Girl, Price found it was something that they couldn't change. He was resolved in concentrating on the development of the game instead and mentioned that it was rather unfortunate that gamers might already have been spoiled with the leaked information posted.

The biggest focus of Resistance 2 will definitely be in its storytelling aspect, as seen through the eyes of the first game's protagonist, Nathan Hale. Here's how Price explained how that side of the game is going to be fleshed out:

[...] With Resistance 2 weÂ’re keeping the focus on Hale. The story is told 100% from his perspective and he himself has become a much more fleshed-out character. He goes through more of an evolution through the game and weÂ’ll see him also take charge more than he did in Resistance. We enjoy that aspect of gaming and feel a lot more can be done with story.

Price also noted several titles where he took the inspiration of putting an engaging storyline in the upcoming sequel. Games like Half-Life 2, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, and even Call of Duty got a nod in their direction.

He closed the interview by saying that the possibility of a handheld FPS version of Resistance is totally possible, and that gamers shouldn't discount the possibility of a different take on the series similar with what Killzone did with their own handheld version of the series. Considering the power the PlayStation Portable packs in its small frame, that assumption might not be so far off after all.

If Resistance 2 turns out like killzone for the PSP

it will permanentally ruin the Resistance series

future.

Half Azzing a FPS won't win you brownie points

with the dedicated fanbase and only serves as

a slap to the face of the collective fanbase .

If it's originally a FPS then it doesn't belong

to anything else, just FPS "NOT" 3rd "T"PS!

laziness and half azzed games will cost you

customers and market shares.

Good luck in trying not to "F" it up.

Who gives a *****? what the online like?

and as for the psp, keep it like it is now, we've all played quake emu's and the countrike thing, thumbs down to psp resistance looking like killzone on the psp. they should make the psp an interactive part of resistance instead, an in-game gps/map/hud for a fps or something akin to the formula one rear view mirror.
