B***h, me hearties, b***h loud and b***h proud! Says Nippon Ichi Software America (NISA) in an interview with RPGLand, echoing the same advice they gave Advanced Media Network a few months ago. As they tell RPGLand in the depths of the Brazilian jungle... (hey, don't look at us, that's RPGLand talking):
WeÂ’re trying to determine how much demand is out there in the market. ItÂ’s obviously not cheap to localize a game; therefore, we need to be sure a game would actually succeed here in the States. Also, to clear things up, Sony actually is supportive about 2D games. Some people have the misconception that Sony dislikes 2D and prefers 3D, but that is not true.
How badly did you guys want it? Let's see, we're checking the comments on all our Disgaea Portable posts from the beginning... see if any of these sound familiar to you:

- need this so bad!!!! Shame there'll probably be no European/UK release, but it least i could import a us version! (demonkill)
- I love disgaea and I want this game so bad, I'm going to import it (KaizokuNinja)
- Please for the love of God... I'd even upgrade my firmware if it wasn't emulatable (NO FREAKIN WAY!)
RPGLand's interview with NISA is ROFLarious. From RPGLand's questioning, NISA promises that Disgaea Portable will rock our socks, pants, and face (they say our skeletons will crawl out of our mouths), but not our awesome, because "Disgaea Portable can only boost your awesome with its own awesome." Again they advise: spread it in the forum posts, spread it to your friends, spread it loud so that NIS-Japan can hear: We Want Our Disgaea Portable Too!!! (You can also replace the word "spread" with "spam", if you'd like).
Maybe we should just take an ad out in the New York Times. Anyone got the email address for the head honcho of Nippon Ichi?

I've never heard of disgaea or have played it, but I'm open to all games (goes to google it)
If for any chance, this post is read by the right people, just know, Disgaea is wanted here in the US.
I'm half Japanese, so I'm not terribly looking forward to it in English. I do feel that many would love it here in the States though, as many raved for it on the PS2.
Heh, well, at least, for 1 and 2, they left the option to play with the original Japanese voices. Sort of like playing an anime.
I REALLY want Disgaea 1 to come to the PSP here. I love tactics games, but Disgaea 1 was just too rare to be found (I cant buy off the internet) when i found out about it. Luckily, i managed to buy Disgaea 2 as soon as it came out, but i really want a portable Disgaea. Plus, with all the things they are adding, its got to be good.
You guys at QJ.net should keep this bumped at the top of the page all day.

I love NIS's humor, I can't wait for Disgaea PSP. I have all the NIS games and even though I beat Disgaea 1 7 times, I still want it again!

never heard of it but games with alot of hype rarely live up to their expectations. still ll research it and from what i already can tell its a tactical game and will probly be lliked in the states. And no im not willing to learn japanese because you aint wiling to play it in english when obviously you already know it. u hypocritical lazy good fer nuthin........................kidding but i dont want to learn another lanuage just ot play games expecially japaese from what i heard one of the hardest languages to learn

The only reason NISA is hyping this so much can only be that they have already planned to release it, and this is basically just viral marketing. Think about it. Why would they release crap like Spectral Souls and then not release Disgaea?
Funny thing, i am 13 and i lived most of my life in Tokyo, easy, and i learned English in school, ha.

my psp is freaken messed up ass hell. and id buy a new one jusr for this game. hell id even get a pink one i dont care. this game kicked ass on the ps2 and it would bad ass to take it everywere portable.

Isn't this game already localized? There is already an english version of Disgaea on the ps2.
Ever since i got my psp ive been wanting to play a good tactic game like disgaea and now they're gona release the actual game to the psp even better.
I seriously want this game. Disgaea portable will be Bada**, and a great addition to anyone's library. We need more Tactic Games!

Even if you think this game sucks, what difference will it make if it comes here, or even if you help it come here? You'll help calm all of this whining, right? Help spread the word anyways, it won't hurt you. Pleeeaaaase?
And I'm half Japanese too! However, I can only guess as to the meaning of Kanji. Luckily, I'm also half Taiwanese, so it helps a bit. I can hold my own when watching anime, though. =3 Basically, as long as I can hear it, I can understand it somewhat.
