Square Enix spills the beans on FF Anniversary, FFT:A2, Kingdom Hearts 3

Square Enix definitely has a lot on their hands - so many titles, so little time. RPGamer was lucky enough to get themselves in SE's office, and came out with both good and bad news.

First up, the good news:

Final Fantasy Tactics A2 will come to the US
Final Fantasy IV will come to the US
Kingdom Hearts 3 will finally be announced at this year's Tokyo Game Show
Final Fantasy 20th Anniversary on June 26 at the PlayStation Store in San Fransisco
2008 will be Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest year

The bad news:

Slowdown in FFT: The Lion War won't be removed
No plans for Front Mission 5: Scars of War outside Japan
No plans for Front Mission 1st on the DS
FFXII: International will be for Japan only

Not too bad, eh? We feel for those deprived of their mecha goodness - let's just hope Squeenix gives the FM fans what they've been wishing for from Santa.

The folks over at Square Enix also re-confirmed that an MMO will grace the 360 and Vista. FFXI fans don't have to fear though, since they'll still get support and content like before. Similar to ArenaNet's Guild Wars, FFXI won't die out even when its sequel is born. No plans for Wii Virtual Console and PlayStation Store on PS3/PSP were revealed, but we'll keep you guys updated.

The same team... a darker story... a deeper story... animations by the advent children team... lol What more? The girl who's making the sounds for vs 13 did teh sounds of parasite eve, legend of mana, and all the kingdom hearts games. OH, and there is also Tetsuya Nomura who worked on "FINAL FANTASY V~VIII, X, FFVII ADVENT CHILDREN, KINGDOM HEARTS", lol. There is also Takeshi Nozue who worked on "FINAL FANTASY IX, X, FFVII ADVENT CHILDREN, KINGDOM HEARTS" :D.

I mean, this game will sign the victory of the ps3 against the x360 in Japan ( I know that in japan, this is not hard, but this could also lead to victory against the wii... after some years ). In america? Dunno, I loved kingdom hearts games, and a LOT of americans loved it, so it'll surely help the ps3 that is not selling pretty well right now. I mean, one of my friend want an x360 but if kingdom hearts 3 pops, he's sold. (anyway he'll have to wait before he buy his next-gen console, his car was stolen yesterday, this let a chance to sony).

I hope they change their minds, those are two of my most wanted Square-Enix titles

also hopefully custom firmware will help with the problems on FFT since S-E seems not to care to fix it

Not buying something that costs 600%u20AC isn't exactly being cheap ;)

But it's true that the PS3 needs good, exclusive games (because right now, there's nothing worth spending 600%u20AC on the PS3), and KH3 could be one of them...

As a side note, in Japan, they still sell more PS2's than PS3's... So don't bury the PS2 too fast, it's not "the past" yet...

They did NOT confirm Kingdom Hearts "3". They said that the announcement in September WON'T be KH3. DEFINITELY WON'T BE. KH3 was NOT mentioned in the article.

"Charlie: I can say that we will be announcing the next Kingdom Hearts at the Tokyo Game Show in September. Other than that, there is not likely anything else this year."

Didn't Square Enix say something about possibly releasing Kingdom Hearts 3 for the Wii? I know this was at least a rumor, but is it still possible?

I never write on here but this news is too hugely disappointing for me to not write about. Front Mission is the best series I have ever played. I played FM3 3 times and FM4 twice. I was disappointed that FM5 did not come out for the PS2 and now this. I got excited when I saw the robot pic and now I am let down.

Well, MANY rumors have stated that KH3 will come out to the Wii. The "side-story" will most likely come out on the DS and NOT the PSP. Wii is almost a definite for KH3 as of now. No rumors whatsoever of KH3 on PS3, none. The ONLY reason people thuink it'll be for the PS3 is because they're all like "1 and 2 came out for PS2, so 3 comes out on PS3, LOLZ, you guys r stupid!" or "They're making it for the PS3 because they can have SHINY SHINY graphics, lolz." KH wasn't based on graphics, it was based on GAMEPLAY, otherwise it would've gotten much better graphics (NOT COUNTING THE FMVs! Any system can make FMVs -_-), and Wii would suit KH3 perfectly. Wiiblade FTW! Remember, when they said they haven't decided what system KH3 will be on? They could've been thinking how they could implement KH controls, etc. to the Wii! YAYZ! It's gonna come out for Wii :).... adn will be announced September! PLus remember that studoo that Disney/Buena Vista built for Wii games? What could THAT be?!

Chill out guys - isn't it way too early to speculate what system KH3 is being developed for?

September is still months away, so don't claim anything without any proof - and Denamdeo the Disney studio created for development on the Wii could be for anything...do you not know how many Franchises Disney and Pixar own?

Remember - Disney got the rights for the Turok franchise, and it's quite possible that that is the game they opened the new studio for.

As for not having the FM series in the US, that really sucks...I've always enjoyed Front Mission, especially 4.

Final Fantasy XIII and Versus XIII are gonna be worth shelling out $600 for a PS3....

And what slowdowns in FFT?

My friend bought the Japanese version [he's asian...so yeah he can understand the limitless supply of text bubbles] and he has yet to complain about any slowdown......besides, it's probably just a little lag, otherwise Square would've dealt with it.

Square-Enix have yet to disappoint me - I've been playing Square games since 1992, and they've managed to keep me entertained ever since.

It's a great year for RPGs...

Everyone is acting so imature about this. People are saying "OMG! KH3 is so coming out on the Wii, you d***a**!!!" or "No way, you freak! It'll come out on PS3!" First of all, no one knows. Don't say anything until the interview this September. THEN, you will know. Me? I would love it to come out for PS2. Sadly, this is unlikely. But you know what? I'll sell anything I have on ebay and buy the platform that it's on! I'll only do that for KH!!! ^.^
