Square Enix releasing over a dozen multi-platform titles in Europe |
Ó
Japanese publisher Square Enix is ready to break out of Japan and head west. According to SE president and CEO John Yamamoto, the company is anticipating the European gaming market to be bigger than Japan's. To capitalize on all that gaming Euro, the company plans to develop more 'Western' games in the future. In fact, the company is already shopping for a European developer to help them carve out a big slice of the European pie.
"I am very interested in European development because there are a lot of very good independent studios," said Yamamoto. "We have started having meetings with people right now, and we will keep going. Titles IÂ’m looking at are for Europe and also the US. We are not looking to hire staff one by one, so maybe studios that have good experience would be easier to work with."
Their opening salvo for 2007 is Final Fantasy XII - almost a sure winner. But you FF fans out there better pace yourselves. First
about time for those games to get an english release (Europe or US) those are some great games most of which i played for hours during school on the computers
I'd say he was speaking about the titles that got an english translation, but were never released in PAL countries. Such as: Every DQ before DQVIII, Chrono Trigger, Xenogears, Chrono Cross, FFT, Dew Prism
lol ah are these games eve ncoming to uSA?? like Seiken densetsu 3 never got translate into english but a fansub team did it.. so like wtf they are only giving it to the UK??
That list was compiled from the Shacknews forums where the guy from CNN goes quite often. He asked them what were their favorite games of the year. Not ,"what are you looking forward to playing this Christmas". The shack is full of 360 and Nintendo fanboys, that's why there's no Sony games.

that sounds pretty cool. i would like ffvii or iv international. especially on ps3!
man i never play tobal1 ,or 2 but wanted to it had the dbz styled characters. back then dbz was the shlt.
Could that mean that be because PS3 launch games were awful? (Ignoring PS2 stuff here and to come)
1st of all I posted this in the wrong thing (idiot). Second of all I'm a 360 fanboy myself. I HATE SONY with a passion. I'm not trying to defend them, I'm just saying where the list came from.
Is this story posted here because these games "might" come to the 360?
Sweet Radical Dreamers!
For those who don't know Radical Dreamers stars Kid, Serge, and "Magil" in a dimension between Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross...It was made in 1996 or 7 I think.
Anyways...Sucks I only get the US release of stuff...but I'm sure I'll be able to find them on ebay or in ISO format for those versions which will be for PSP.
If you posted it in the wrong section why am I the idiot. Second off why complain about if you love Microsoft?
HELLS YES!!!
I was calling myself an idiot, not you. And I wasn't complaining, just saying where the list originated from. The Shack IS full of 360 and Nintendo fanboys. I actually got banned for 30 mins yesterday for PS3 bashing.
Does that mean that... FF VII might... come to the PS3... or... the PSP??
It sure would be nice if QJ bloggers could do some research themselves and not quote others verbatim (or at least be accurate with own research). That list of Final fantasy games is ridiculously incorrect. VII international is just the japanese language of the western FFVII, FFII was ported to GBA and Psone, FFIII just had its US release, and IV and V are on psone and gba in the west (and IV had a snes release in the US).
Oh and Tobal 2 was released too I'm sure. The rest I'll give you but the constant lack of reliable independant research by QJ bloggers gets more and more ridiculous
U can play some of these games now Bahaumt Lagoon, treasure Hunter G,Radical Dreamers,Secret of Mana 3 they already have english patches for them search the web. Tobal 2 i was awsome i had it since 1997.
ther eis a translation patch for radical dreamers rom.
tobal 2 was the reason I own a japanese PS1 many hours playing the single player RPG in the fighting game. I hope it comes to the US so I can finally understand it.
I just want Grandia 3 to be released in Europe. I honestly don't care about any other Square Enix games, Just Grandia 3.
Where was the mention of UK? the article said Europe and US dumbass.
thats a shame really, i have the game and it fairly sucked. the first disc was pretty epic but the second was practiacally unplayable, i have never got round to complete it, and im a diehard fan, i complete the first 2 several times.
The Final Mixes of KH will come and ex:Chain of Memories.
OK, i have played it with a german patch, but i want it retail!
