Power Stone Collection

IGN recently talked with Power Stone Collection Producer, Kazuhiro Tsuchiya. Good news is, the PSP game wasn't altered that much to retain that good old Power Stone feel that fans have been used to. Oh yeah, the difficulty was altered a bit to make it more manageable, but that's it.

Tsuchiya said that they "didn't go overboard to avoid changing the game, but had to balance it a little bit to make it feel more like a Collection than two completely different games." Cool, eh? It seems that these guys are paying a lot of attention to customer feedback, and for that we give them two thumbs up.

He adds that the the PSP's button layout is well-suited for the game, and they were "happy with the result". Hopefully, many fans will appreciate all their hard work, and will clamor for more Capcom Dreamcast games ported to the PSP. In the end, user demand will determine whether they shall continue making doing PSP versions of previous Capcom games, so better let them know that you like to keep 'em coming, alright?

On a final note, here's what he has to say for curious "onlookers" who want to try out the game for the first time:

The collection itself is fun and the illustration/graphic style of the Power Stone universe together with its unique characters enhances the atmosphere. We did our best to recreate the experience that so many fans appreciated back when it first came out and I think fans new to the series will appreciate as well.

Hope that one's got you convinced, guys. It's expected to hit shelves really soon (like the 31st of October soon), so maybe you'd want to check it out once it's released.

PowerStone Collection RULZ!!!

The only downside is indeed the slow loading times, that aside this is an amazing port! Now all we need is a kickass Marvel vs. Capcom Collection port, who's with me!?

Bring these games back.

The fact that it's a dreamcast game is not a valid reason for the graphic department taking a hit. The game was had some lush graphics and tight gameplay for its time. I wish developers of dreamcast era would port some of their games to the system because the controls for the system are very simillar to the psp interface. marvel vs. capcom will never hapen because the rights had Expired around 2003 and was one of the reasons the port of MVC 2 on xbox is so rare. Activion now ownms the marvel license and put out the horrid imperfects fighter. dreamcast to psp wish list 1) Shenmue (won't happen in US) 2) Jet set radio (never was big enough, again) 3) soul caliber( a good posibility Namco) 4) DOA 2 5) Crazy Taxi 6) Space Channel 5 7) ChuChu Rocket! 8) Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 9) Ready 2 Rumble Boxing A pc port that was decent : 10) Hidden and Dangerous a good mix of turn based tactical and fps

DC

FYI, EA own Imperfects. Screw them, not Activision. Still hoping for SF3: 3S though :)

Graphics

Well I was a fan of both these games back on the DC. This collection is great. Power Stone just like I remember it. About the graphics, they look the same as the DC version. They didn't "take a hit" from what I could tell. Only thing I noticed was that when the screen zooms out in 4 player matches it can sometimes get hard to see everything.
