Motorstorm: Arctic Edge to squeeze more out of PSP hardware and push it to its limit |
Speaking to NowGamer, Ogden explains:
MotorStorm: Arctic Edge really does push the machine. WeÂ’ve got more physics and damage and destruction going on than most other games on the system. As to whether thereÂ’s more that can be squeezed out; most definitely. WeÂ’ve been working with the hardware now for a good few years and weÂ’re still finding ways that we can squeeze more out of it.
As long as you take a sensible view on what you’re trying to achieve then there aren’t really any major constraints when translating a PS3 game to PSP. The main area to deal with is the graphics and visuals – we have to use lower resolution textures and less polygons in our models, but in such a way that it’s still going to look great on the small screen. Really, nothing else needs to be compromised that much, at least not in the player’s perception of the final product.
And because we haven't found that much media for the game yet, let's bring up that trailer once more from last month. Of course, this looks to be a CGI clip. I wonder what actual gameplay looks like. If BigBig Studios does deliver on Ogden's promise, then that'd be way too cool for the PSP. (No pun intended)

cant wait for this game, i have both the ps3 versions and they are amazing, i hope this isn't any different.
Cool I love racing games on the consoles
You know those games that always have awesome looking trailer but the game itself has horrible graphics? I thought this was one of those. Seeing this article makes me suspect that's what the game is going to look like. I can't wait!
i would play this game non-stop. ps3 graphics on a psp would look killer!
If it's anywhere near the quality of the PS3 games then it's a definite purchase for my PSP. Great machine for portable racers what with stuff like Burnout Legends, Ridge Racers and Midnight Club LA Remix, among others, on it.
Look GREAT! I can't wait to play it on my AWESOME PSP!
