It certainly looks like the PlayStation Portable is more than an optional in-game tweaking device for the PlayStation Home, PS3's virtual world. Sony Computer Entertainment's (SCE) marketing boss John Koller has revealed that they have something in store for the PSP in Home, enabling them to experience Home on the go.

There is still no official word about Sony PSP's inclusion into the PlayStation Home network, but Koller has already hinted that it's quite natural to have the PSP as part of this virtual world. "Intuitively, if you take the PSP with you, you would want to take some of Home with you," he said.

On a related note, he also gave a few tidbits regarding the redesigning process of the PSP:

We certainly looked at the area below the [face buttons on the right side of the PSP] for a second analog stick, but we thought the issues far outweighed the benefit we'd get out of it.

So they really did consider the inclusion for the second analog stick, and found that there's not much reason to add it into the redesign. Sorry, Me and My Katamari Fans, looks like we're stuck with mashing the D-pad and the directional buttons in rolling that Katamari.

While a second anaogue stick would make playing games easier it would likely mean new games wouldn't be playable on older PSP, if the added a second analogue stick they might s well upgraded the whole console (PSP2).

At least I can still buy future games for my old console, I don't have to shell out cash for a new PSP.

well it could work with older games, just the second analog stick would be disabled, or maybe sony could do the trick hackers use by redirecting it to the face buttons.

» nvm

I seriously hope that they dont just do some crappy shhyt for psp home. I would really love if they could just make a toned down version, but still give us the ability to interact with others through avatars and go to others rooms and stuff. I mean the DS can do it?, (AC:WILD WORLD) Why can't us PSP users?

Dont you ever read your own articles. In the article about hiring DAX, your source was the exact same page as this source so why not fit it into one article. I dislike QJ less and less every day when i see how unprofessional they are becoming.

» I was pissed at 1st...

when i heard that cellphone could use home and there was no word on the psp, so now i feel much better. I hope it ends up good. I don't see being able to recreate HOME on the psp possible, so they should do something that can only be achieved with a psp... in fact they should take out that virtual psp and make the options on it for a real psp... maybe trough remote play or something like that

» HAHAHA

M$ trolls are just mad because their "handheld" failed when it came out to the market to try to compete against the PSP and DS. LMAO...it didn't even last 2 weeks, and they scrapped it. Now the only thing M$ can look forward to is the "Zune" which is getting demolished by the iPod shuffle. HAHAHAAHAHAHHAH AHAHAHAHAAHAH

» Nah,

He's still trolling the PS3 news; that how I got here. It must be hard for him to navigate the site with one hand in his pants, so he probably doesn't change sites often.

» Let me guess....

you're going to need the PS3 to use Home on the PSP, right? Just like the PS1 downloadable games that required a PS3 even though there was absolutely no reason the PS3 was needed, until Dark Alex saved us from that BS and let us rip our own PS1 roms to play on the PSP.

IF sony could find it in their cold, dark hearts to let us use Home on PSP without a PS3, I might be impressed. Then again it might be totally useless, because I'm not too impressed with what I've seen of Home so far.

"you're going to need the PS3 to use Home on the PSP, right?"

Wouldn't be surprised. After all Home is based on the PS3 so it would make sense that u would need one to use it... but then again my logic might not seem suitable for one with such intellect (ie none)

Also since u seem to hate the PS3 sooo much can u answer one simple question? Why are u here instead of being on ur beloved 360 forums??? No one cares for ur opinion, and u spamming everywhere is getting very annoying!
