Speaking to the European PlayStation Blog in an interview, Hideo Kojima gave some more gameplay info about his next Solid masterpiece, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. After this one and Metal Gear Solid: Rising (PS3, Xbox 360, and PC), however, the real Big Boss behind Metal Gear Solid is set to leave the franchise in the hands of his younger colleagues at Kojima Productions, leaving the creative genius wide open for new games.

As for leaving the franchise behind, Kojima isn't worried at all. He believes that the young blood will add new features into the franchise, effectively creating a new breed of Metal Gear Games. In fact, he's actually looking forward to the output that they'll be coming up with.

So after working on Big Boss and Raiden in their respective MGS games, Kojima's passing the torch unto his youngsters. Answering a fan question as to what he'll be up to after MGS, the producer simply said he'll be moving on to "a new original title."

» Damn it...

I guess he wont be working on a new Z.O.E. game. Come on Kojima just one more of that game.

» One more thing...

If he doesn't want to make MGS Prequals of characters he can always go for animated comics and sell it over the PSN. Cheaper in production and profitable.

» I agree completely!

Why must he ignore that series completely?

by ief - 2009-10-16 07:06
» hmm...

sounds familiar... lol

ZoE3 would be incredible on the ps3...make it happen Kojima! Though I guess something new would be exciting too.

Even Kojima has to answer to the shareholders and MGS makes a lot of money.

» I've heard this before

Didn't Kojima say that this would be his last time working on a Metal Gear Solid title AFTER EVERY *****ING GAME IN THE SERIES SINCE MGS2.

It's going on about 10 years(8 years to be exact.) Kojima is a *****ing liar. I guarantee we'll see him leading another Metal Gear Solid title after these two hit.

Truthfully, I don't give a damn if he continued the series or not though. The series sucks. So he's got quite a few *****ty games under his belt atleast from my perspective.

Other than storyline atleast. The MGS storyline was good and MGS3 storyline was amazing. MGS2 storyline started out good, but then once you got in control of Raiden, nothing more than him being a whining ***** for 10 minutes every time you had some story, which in my opinion doesn't make up for a story.

Anyways. The only games you've made that were good in both storyline and gameplay, Kojima, were the Zone of Enders games. Please make another. Don't be a lying douchebag again.

» douche bag ^^

As much as I have loved the MGS series, I'm glad that he HOPEFULLY really is stepping down now. We have too many sequels of everything nowadays, its time one of our generations greatest game makers take charge of a new property. Besides, Konami is still going be pumping out new MGS for many years to come, satisfying anyone who still cares.

» haha...

Ya I was gonna say, didn't he say this before

I've never heard of him doing anything else good. Doing some research it seems that a game called "boktai" was his only other game that warranted a series. The game needs to be played in sunlight and has the creed "establish a good relationship with the sun and enjoy a new game play style!" and in typical Kojima fashion has a list of warnings about playing in the sun for too long....i'm not too sure about that.

It's like wanting if there was the internet back in Picasso or Van Gogh's time and newbs whining that they should just do something different...

by d4ntes - 2009-10-16 15:09
» Yeah right

He said that after making MGS3, also after making MGS4, now he is saying that, and he will also say that after making MGS5, MGS6, MGS DS2, MGS Peace Walker 2 and MGS RISING 2 Fall Of Raiden :)

when your close you lock on but far farther out you can free look and hold L to keep the reticle in place and still move and strafe and if you tap right to turn off free look you can just ran around not just lock on and everyone should copy cause its on only way with one analog that isnt awkward

» Actually Kojima is lying about stepping down

hes done this 5 times already. He said he was stepping down after MGS2 because it was gonna be the last one but then he came back and created MGS3 and after that he said that he was stepping down again.

You really wanna argue, heres the facts, this right here about him stepping down, hes said this after every game, hes created.

He pretty much lies and those who worship him are too naive to notice how he thinks. Please deny that Kojima is lying about this cause when he comes back, I will own you guys so badly.

But then again this time might be true but again, hes done this over and over again.

» o

but in mgs 4 he actually left it where the snake story could end and wasn't that his goal

by riechan - 2009-10-17 19:33
» Hmm.

Off-topic: Kojima-san looks so damn perv.
