Keiji Inafune - Image 1When a guy of Keiji Inafune's caliber agrees to have an interview with you and says he's interested in a collaboration, you will need more than a pinch and a slap across the face to get you back down to Earth. The guy is, after all, a legend. That's what happened to the guys at Bungie, who managed to sit down with Capcom's legendary R&D man.

In case you didn't know, Keiji Inafune is responsible from bringing us Mega Man, Onimusha, and has also had a hand in other major Capcom franchises like Street Fighter and Resident Evil. Currently, he's the head of R&D and Online Business at Capcom.

Such are the creds of this guy who just expressed interest in working with the guys behind Halo.

So says Inafune-san:

Bungie is an amazing studio that has made incredible games. So I was always curious about how they made their games in hopes of being up to add some of the flavor into Capcom games. Also, I wanted to come down to Bungie in order to see just how well our philosophies on game design matched up. If things clicked, I know it would be interesting to collaborate together on a title in the future.

Interesting indeed. Mega Man FPS? Nah, maybe they'd best stay away from the crossovers and go with new IP - that is if such a collaboration will ever take place.

Instead of being purely competitive, they should have friendly little get-togethers and discuss their hit games. You know, why they're a hit game, how they developed it, I mean sure you might be selling secrets, but it's a trade off .. If everyone is honest, there's a good chance everyone will win! ALTHOUGH I don't think these two studios compete as much as others.. Different types of games, combine elements of each.. New genre please!

I've liked most of Capcom's stuff but I haven't enjoyed any of Bungie's games.
