PSP KatamariKatamari game developer Kaita Takahashi had announced his hopes to move on from video games and fulfill his lifelong dream - to design a children's playground, a real one and not the virtual type. Although he went back for a while to help out with We Love Katamari, he has no connection whatsoever with the PSP spin-off, Me and My Katamari.

There were some speculations about the end of the Katamari series after the PSP version received mixed yet somewhat positive reviews from gamers. The constant bickering and disagreements of its creators also did not help rejuvenate the series. But in a recent interview, Takahashi implied that he expects that Namco will go on and create more Katamari games.

In his own words, he said that "I know I won't be working on it right now, but I think Namco will probably continue it. It's still a viable franchise. I had nothing to do with the PSP version, so clearly they can keep making them on their own...So yeah, I won't be having anything to do with it anymore, but Katamari is not finished."

As for his dream to be a children's playground designer, that seems to be on hold for now. Apparently Mr. Takahashi is working on a game for a next-generation system (Clue- It ain't for Wii). Whatever happens, we will surely keep you posted.

» oh and...

thats a pretty gay lifelong dream.... I mean, creating games is a much better goal than making a playground. =/

» I don't think so...

I wouldn't say creating a playground for countless generations of children to play in is "gay"...

I think it's a noble cause and, isn't for profit, unlike video games/most entertainment media. And if he does manage to build a playground then it will probably still be around in 10, 20 years.

They can always create new worlds, rules,... but they can't do 50 games with only that.

Takahashi accepted to participate in "We love Katamari" only because Namco's plans were to take the first game and apply a christmas skin, that's all...

Hope the playgorunds are not for disney cause disney's owners are *****ing *****es , they kids to adults in places like Haiti worn on their products for 12 cents an hour , around 100 people have died in Disney park ( ohh Disney is not safe at all cause they have a policy that noone , not even police, can enter their park with fire arms , once a crazy dude got a knife and hurt many people and they din't let the police enter with firearms to stop the crazy guy and well , many deaths weren't prevented , think what a guy with a chainsaw who listens to marilyn manson could do in a disney park ) , and Disney has many sublimimal messages in their movies like in alladins were in the background he says to her take of your clothes , and when in lion king when the animals go to sleep the dust in the sky it forms the word sex and in a mouse movie if you go slowly frame by frame you see in a window a topless women , and in the cover of the first movie from little mermaid in the middle of the castle you see a tower that looks exactly like a golden dildo or penis. Anyways I think this things aren't appropiate for kids under age 9 , imagine a 4 year old knowing this things.
