Hideo Kojima: new game to be released 'in the not so distant future' |
Ó
Being a producer for a game like MGS4 sure is tough: lots of interviews, lots of project planning, and heck, even have someone sell a PS3 with your autograph for thousands of dollars. So what's life like to be Hideo Kojima? A blast, from the looks of things.Famitsu ran another interview with the Konami producer, who talked (for the nth time now) what life is like after Metal Gear Solid 4. True enough, he did (also for the nth time now) touch on his "future titles."
Being one of Konami's higher ups, he's actually on to a lot of projects at any given time (remember how, back in MGS4 development, he was also tasked to do Portable Ops?), all of which he's got varying degrees of influence on. Primarily though, he has three tasks to his name:
- to make games
- to monitor other games from his staff
- to manage the studio and its employees
So what's new today other than things we've heard him previously talk about? Well, apparently, out of all the projects he's handling right now, it's this new game of his - the one he's acting as designer for and will be announced next year - that we should be looking forward to. For one thing, the release of this game is, in IGN's words, "in the not so distant future."
Which begs the question: what are you looking forward to? Having a new Metal Gear title sounds a bit too soon after MGS4. Which leaves Zone of the Enders as another likely title in the pipeline.

Yeah a new Z.O.E would be good, I never had a chance to play it last gen, would be cool to have loads of neat looking robots shooting each other up on a PS3 or 360, and the Wii could have some neat control *****. :)
I don't want it to be Z.O.E. I mean I wouldn't be disappointed if it was but I think I would much prefer something completely new... another awesome series to start following as I did with MGS, plus if he was working on another Z.O.E. then he would be the director and not the designer..
being able to juggle many high quality games at one time, he deserves a hand clap :p.
