While talking about Gran Turismo PSP at E3, series creator Kazunori Yamauchi said that in terms of status, Gran Turismo 5 can actually be released any time. They just want to keep polishing it up some more.

"I want to release it as fast as I can, but GT5 for us, when you talk about its status, it's at a point we can release it any time we want, but we can always keep working on it," Yamauchi told Eurogamer. "It's very important for us to make sure everything is done perfectly and everything is done in detail."

Yamauchi also mentioned possible connectivity features for the PSP and PS3 Gran Turismos. One is that players may be able to share garages on both versions so that any car unlocked in the PSP version would immediately become available in the PS3 game.

Gran Turismo PSP arrives on October first as a launch title for the PSP Go. Gran Turismo 5, on the other hand, still does not have a firm release date.

Well...i can see the PSP heating up!!:)

» yes

I've got no beef with them waiting and making it as polished as they can... that trailer for GT5 was maybe one of the top 3 I saw at E3 thus far. The fact that it looks like we're going to have multiple classes/racing leagues to play with makes the game that much sweeter looking. Really, keep working on it, show the competition what can really be done... Let's see a racing game ship with 1,500 cars and 200 tracks... on the PS3, it can be done...

» hmm?

Is still releasing for the regular PSPs right?

by Shatterdome - 2009-06-04 07:36
» ....

They said in the press conference that everything released for download will also have a UMD version as well. Regular PSP's can even download it,if you want to fill up your memory stick....

» YES!!!

I cannot wait for GT to come out on the PSP!!!

I have been waiting for that since 2005 when i got my first psp!!!

I feel that polyphony isn't going to release GT5 until a month before the release of GT on the PSP. But it will be well worth the wait!!!

After following the game for, what... FOUR YEARS now... I don't really believe it will ever be released. And if it is released anyway, I've already stopped caring.

by Cactuar Knight - 2009-06-04 10:15
» dude.

If you stopped caring, why are posting a message on a news article about it?

by hush404 - 2009-06-04 14:24
» yeah dude

the trailer was sick and it actually made me laugh seeing it as it reminded me of an interview G4 did with the guys behind forza3 and asking them how they got it to look so awesome... lmao then GT shows up and it whooops its as$ in the visuals dept.

I was a bit curious about the video, looking everywhere for damage (gawd I hope it makes it in) and noticed that the rally car may... just may... have some crackage going on with it's hood... or my eyes are playing tricks on me

» ...

Wasn't there damage in one of the GT NASCAR clips?

Also, I really want to see GT PSP gameplay footage because I want to see how good it is possible to make it look on the PSP after being amazed at how great GT4 looked on the PS2. Yes, I realize it will most likely look worse than GT4, but I'm still curious.

» this always happens

they said:

"any car unlocked in the PSP version would immediately become available in the PS3 game"

but not vice versa.....i totally hate that

i want to be able to play these side by side (.....)

how hard could it be to do that?

» GT4

GT4 shows that PS2 is really capable of great graphics when the developer knows what they are doing. And it was released back in March 2005.

They never said you won't be able to, so there's hope

by noshoes84 - 2009-06-05 00:25
» yeah dude

Those prerendered clips were SICK! Way better than the game play footage in Forza! And it only took 4 years too! But hey, 800 cars will be awesome..that way you can drive your moms Geo Metro IN THE GAME! Won't that be sweet dude?

» Just to remind you

Anyone with a hacked PSP wont be able to play this the only wayy you can is if dark alex come up with a way to update your psp to 5.50 whichh is not pssible rite now so prety much this game wont be able to be hacked untill alex updates m33

by HIMFan - 2009-06-05 03:36
» To Talha03

Yeah, well, not really. I've had plenty of "hacked PSP"s and everytime in the past when there was a game that had a newer firmware, we'd have to wait for the next custom firmware, as you so admirably discribed. But more recently there have been tweaks that let us play it, like the ability to temporarily boot a different firmware off of the memory stick. Or change the number of the firmware to whatever we want. So your info above is only slightly true. But I'm assuming that 5.50 will be good enought that Dark Alex will indeed give us a new one finally. But time will only tell.

» and..

you state that like there is a problem.. since when has Dax let anybody down?

a pitiful attempt at worrying folk

by pewpie - 2009-06-05 05:24
» agreed

i'll believe it when i see it.. all i have seen so far is a pretty piss-poor attempt at selling the psp go and the same hollow promise as the launch model.. four YEARS ago..

by bugga12 - 2009-06-06 09:18
» noshoes84

Sure man. We can drive our mom's Metro in the game! But wait... It'd be SIMULATION. Are you sure Forza is up for that task? From what I saw gameplay-wise at E3... I'm going to have to say "No".

Also those clips weren't pre-rendered babe, they used the replay system that's already included in GT5P. And don't you dare telling us that "LAWL GT5 needs replays to make a game look good!" Forza also enhances their replays on the fly. That's why Forza 2 had 30fps Replays and 60fps ingame racing.

Get all your ***** straight, even if you're going to make an idiotic, fanboy-ish comment.

Does the 5.50 update bring any necessary files that GT will require? It may not.

You could just rip the UMD to ISO then hex edit the ISO so you only need 5.00 to launch, just make sure you keep the UMD.

Or upgrade for GT then downgrade homebrew.
