Capcom interviewed regarding Monster Hunter and the future of the PSP - Image 1Capcom, which created the hit Monster Hunter Freedom on the PSP, was recently interviewed by IGN regarding their game and their outlook on the future of the PSP. With regards to Monster Hunter, it first seemed that Capcom really decided to focus on the graphics of the game. However, after hearing them speak about all of the other features they wished to provide, we realize that the graphics were simply a part of the story.

Monster Hunter is one of the few games that have become popular on the PSP because of it's console-like graphics. Members of the team who were responsible for his game were asked about this phenomenon, and they gave a simple answer: "One of our goals, even on the first Monster Hunter Freedom, was to preserve the console-quality graphics." They later added that "If the visual quality is high, it definitely adds to the game's wow factor. We wanted anyone who happened to see it to be impressed immediately."

They were asked about downloadable content, and its impact on their game development of Monster Hunter. They gave a very strong affirmative response to it, saying that "Without question, downloadable content, and ad-hoc gameplay are very important features in Monster Hunter Freedom 2." They went on to expound on this by stating that they wish to have "a long-term relationship with users by offering new quests and extras via network download." Apparently, they have really considered this and built their game around these principles.

Unlike another company that was interviewed, the folks from Capcom were very reserved when it came to their take on the future of the PSP. They simply said that they "still have a lot to learn about the PSP hardware and its potential", and that the key to it all is "effectively maximizing its capabilities to produce high quality experiences for users."

I am the Best. Don't hate, N I G G A!

Man, I am the best. Don't you N I G G A S ever forget it, even though you have very very low IQ. Even insects can remember such things: I am the best! Capcom is a dirty company. Sony should drop them like how cops drop N I G G A S! Monster Hunter had so much potential, but with many long load times (I hate the constant loading everytime you enter things,) no online for the other regions, and limited stages, and users' ability to switch weapons or armors on the fly, this game is a 7 out of ten. Capcom, stop betraying your fanbase, you dirty N I G G A!

re

its funny how the two supporting of the psp interveiws have been cited but the ones that blames piracy and says the psp's future isnt great nor will it have many exclusive games gets cut out: http://psp.ign.com/articles/775/775304p2.html "What has been disappointing from a developer perspective is that, despite strong hardware sales worldwide, software sales have been flat. There are arguably a number of reasons contributing to this, but in my opinion one of the key issues is piracy. The ability to run pirated PSP software without any kind of hardware modification is a definite weakness of the system right now, and one being exploited by hundreds of thousands of gamers if Torrent traffic of pirated PSP software is anything to go by. Its a weakness that Sony may never be able to fully resolve, but action is definitely necessary to ensure the long term commercial viability of the platform. In the mean time, all I can do is ask that gamers support the companies that make the games they play by purchasing their games legitimately." http://psp.ign.com/articles/775/775306p1.html "::' Mercury has since flowed onto PS2 and now Wii. Where does PSP now fit into Ignition's development plans for future Mercury games or other titles?' We, like pretty much everyone else, feel the PSP needs a lift. I'm sure we will continue to support it in some shape or form but I think our days of making it the lead platform for a title are behind us. "

Hell No!

Capcom is an overrated piece of trash that has no loyalty to its partners and its fanbase. They deserve to rot in hell or have sex with those 90 lb ultra feminine (even more so than the actual Japanese females) little Japanese boys.
