TVSP

Just a while ago, we reported the TVSP Release. TVSP is a homebrew application which allows you to watch TV on your PSP wirelessly. All you need is a Wifi router, and a TV Capture/Tuner card in your PC. Although you have to buy a Capture card, they're way cheaper, selling at around $30-60, while a Location Free Base Station retails for around $350!

Anyways, a few users were facing problems with setting everything up. So, DeMoN X from our forums has written a nice guide for everyone to check out and learn. Although the setup is not difficult, it might be a problem to a few people. If you're one of them, this guide is for you.

A big thanks to DeMoN X for writing this in his spare time. I'm sure all the PSPUpdates readers appreciate it.

I definitely most positively appreciate it. Now all I do is link people to this article. Saves me a bundle of time. Thanks DemonX

by bigshynepo - 2006-05-02 12:54
» good idea did-joe

I was thinking along the same lines but then people would have to watch some foreign TV...which sometimes wouldn't be so bad I guess.

» front page news?

Since when are user made guides front page news? I mean seriously. I bet if I did a search, no user made guide has ever been posted on the front page unless it itself made a groundbreaking discovery.

Its very important that these guides be made, but what happened to sticking to news? It has the word NEW in it for a reason.

» tvcard

how can i tell if my pc got a card it is a compaq

by drab - 2006-05-02 13:46
» dunno?

If you don't know if you have one, then you probably don't. A modern computer 95% will not come with one and if it does, someone customized it that way. So unless some one went out and bought one and put it into your computer themselves (in which case they would be using it and you would know), you probably don't have one.

» I'm Sorry

Andy, I'm sorry for over reacting last summer, Bravo on the continued succes of making apps. I use DJSP all the time, I have told thousands of people about it. Any chance you gonna update that? This and that together would be crazy. this wiht sound will drive the price of LF down prolly.

Again MY Appologies.

» Waste of time

I got excited until I realised the following:

1/ This apparently is not an emulator for locationfree, it appears to be a homebrew for the PSP that let's you stream video to the PSP. Am I wrong about this? Sounds a hella lot like Pimpstreamer to me, so maybe I am wrong.

2/ If I am wrong, it's irrelevant anyway. I wouldn't WANT to watch TV on a PSP----Because I DONT want to watch TV on a TV in the first place!!!! TV is crap.

3/ I can fit every season of Seinfeld onto my IPod, as well as my entire CD collection and have 30Gb to spare.... that's all the TV I would probably wanna watch in the first place.

4/ This application would be FAR better on a Nintendo DS. Reason simply being the opportunity for TV on top screen, channel mosaic with touchscreen support on bottom, or even a PNP setup that would allow you to watch a separate channel on each screen and flip between the audio.

5/ Did I mention just how much televsion you can fit on a 60Gb Ipod? I know I did, but that is just such a good reason.

Yeah, now that I have my new IPod my piece of crap PSP is hitting the second hand market. I think by now that a decent game would have come out for it, but noooo, just crappy ports is what Sony gives us.

The only reason I would consider keeping it is the ability to reach the www.dotfart.com website anywhere there is a hotspot (play it back on your cars subs and annoy the suits cutting deals at the cafe's).

Then again, that's where my laptop would come in handy.

So yeah, PSP is getting sold, no doubt about it. NO reason to have one.

1/ Portable games on DS.

2/ Video and music on the IPod.

3/ Internet tyranny on the laptop.

» nice program

first off i think 24 just hates TV psp's and sony for that matter. second this is a great program just needs some fixing up such as sound and make it run faster

» Response

#23: I can't update DJSP anymore. All rights are transferred.

#22: It's a MAME cabinet.

#23: I suppose all someone really needs to do is write something for DS that understands the same streaming format. Then, volia, DSTV

» Sounds cool...

Ow wait theres no sound... :-s

If it has it would be wonderfull.

And who is that idiot who said he'll watch TV on his IPOD. hahaha its like a 1 inch screen.

Youd better watch that ***** on ur laptop...

If this can also be done over the internet, than i can watch tv everywere i can get hold on a wifi spot. That would be awesome!

And a tv card doesnt have to be expensive, altough mine is crap but it only cost me like 30bucks...
