Give Your PSP a Face Lift |

HardOCP's console division has released a tutorial on a simple mod that can give your PSP a fresh look. The biggest issue facing a PSP player is the button mashing smears all over the face plate. Using a Flat Black face plate they picked up online, they gave their PSP a face lift and helped prevent further button mashing smears. At $35 it's a nice change.

it came off after 6 hours off playing!!! (where you put your thumb at the cross button, and no I'm not sweaty) and became shiny..! I took some polish and a cloth, and a bit later I had a shiny gunmetalblack asterix faceplate...
No offence to asterix, I understand nobody bought the gunmetals, but do some primer or sanding first...
The other asterix faceplates are really great!!!
Also the gunmetalblack is really nice and also not so "fingerprinty", but matt is really...
btw I sanded the "not so" matt really lightly so the caoting would attach, and gave it a couple of layers matt clear coating... looks great again...

Question: Are those metal buttons?" I don't think they are. They are probably the same buttons as the original ones but a different color.
This mod is cool, but I wouldn't like to take my own front of my PSP off just to put a new one on.

the sides gonna get a silk matt finish when totally dry..
right now I'm thinking about smoothing the baseplate and (car)laquer it a few times to make it as shiny as the original top (and put that back on)....

If not, I'll probably just end up mismatching as much as possible.

And the above poster is right, every damn time I put the facplate on, I got dust trapped under the screen.
TIP - make sure you wash your hands, or wear some rubber gloves or something, pesky finger prints!

may influence your decision. Also the facplates are going up in price with
in the next month or so. The manufacture has increased their prices. "
