Your requests have finally been answered! Right after releasing Wolfenstein 3D v4.0 yesterday, Zack emailed us yet again for another update. This new build includes full support for the full version of Wolf 3D! Unfortunately, Wolfenstein 3D v4.5 does not support Spears of Destiny. To use SoD, you'll need to use v4.0 (thanks to Zack for the clarification!)

Check out the readme for more details. Meanwhile, here are some notes from the developer:

Known Bugs:

  1. Make sure you have no "CONFIG.WL6" files in the wolf3d folder. This can cause the game to crash on boot. Having wolf3d save files in this folder may also cause it to crash on boot.
  2. Letting the game go past the wolf3D title screen on boot can cause the game to crash when pressing start/enter (to enter the game menu).

It is recommended to press either cross or start once you see the title screen.

Saving/loading buggyness is still there. I didn't even get chance to look at it yet. It's on the todo list for v5.0

Changes In This Version:

  • Added support for Wolf 3D (full version)
PSP developer Zack also adds a note to the users that running the full version requires some .WL6 files. More information and installation procedures are included in the readme text file found in the archive. Zack also says  that he intends to fixed the bugs listed above for the next version, Wolf3D v5.0.

Thanks for the email, Zack!

» just to clarify

The above article has some incorrect information.

This version does not support spears of destiny or any other version. It only supports the full version of Wolf3D.

To use spears of destiny or any of the other versions please use the correct v4.0.

To repeat, the only change in this version is full support for wolf3D.

Note : You have to use the original WL6 files from the 1992 wolf3D dos version. Other WL6 files from modify games etc will not work.

Hope you enjoy the release :)

Also i cant seem to register on the forums... i can't see the registration image. can some admin help me with this?

Have you added the needed files to the wolf3d folder?

Without them the game wont work.

» error

80020148 is the error for wrong kernel. I would say go to your recovery config and change your kernel but your on a slim and that is not possible.
