Wario Mastermind

N64Francois has released his latest homebrew game for the PSP, Wario Mastermind v1.0. Wario Mastermind is basically a mastermind game in the colours and skin of legendary minigame character Wario. N64Francois calls this game 'the little brother of Luigi Mastermind for GBA'. Here's the changelog for v1.0:
  • Optimized Code and correction of some bugs
  • Addition of a time meter (limit of 3 min by part)
  • Addition of music/sounds (with possibility of stopping the basic music)
Thanks to a brilliant translation by Google translate, here's how to play:

The goal of the game is to decipher a secret code made up of 4 symbols by proposing combinations and by using the indices answered by the console. The secret code cannot be composed of double blooms. The indices returned by the console after each proposal for a combination are:

- Black Pawn: if a symbol is well placed
- White Pawn: if a symbol is badly placed

This game looks great, and plays great. Perfect to pass time on a long journey, and very strategic!

ooh, i wish I got first post. not. and infact, I hate most homebrew games and i think this one is quite nice looking. not like most crap homebrew games drawn by a 3 year old with a crayon

Great Game

I always have enjoyed Mastermind. It's at it's worst, however when you almost have the combination and need just one more try, but you're out of turns. Two suggestions for N64Francois would be to change the black pawns' colors so they are easier to distinguish between the empty holes and to center the text ( time and the game name ). Despite these two minor nuisances for the OCD crowd, the game is pleasing to the eyes and plays just like Mastermind should. Great work. I do have one problem with the article. Wario isn't a "mini-game character." He does have his own games in which Mario or Luigi isn't even present. Too bad the games are older than most of the idiotic commenters on here.

Error On Load

Loading on 1.5 - ERROR 80020130 "The game could not be started." Please advise. Ignore the fools who don't know or understand this game - look forward to playing. Thanks for the work!

You got a file read error. Did you copy over all the files? In case you get more errors, head over here in case you don't know what they mean: http://tinyurl.com/ffzsd

Rules

Quick Rules - Lay out 4 colors: White Peg - Right Color, wrong place Black Peg - Right Color, right place Great strategy game, by looking at your previous attempts, try to determine the color code within 10 attempts. Note: The white and black pegs only relate to the correct color and/or placement...the placement of the white and black pegs has no relation to the physical placement of your color pegs.

Graet Game...thanks. On The next update, could you make an option to change the timer, i.e. off, 5 min, 3 min. And maybe exit the game with select instead of start...always want to start the game by pressing...well...start. Thanks again. BTW, this is my fav homebrew - could you code othello?

DID YOU KNOW>>>

I just found out through an article that QJ posted that using likenesses (characters) or trademarks in games namely homebrew is still illegal. Now given that the homebrew scene is giving and not greedy these developers are hardly gone after. The second someone tries to charge for say this Wario game is when Nintendo who go for the throat. So techniclly, not that I care though this game and every other that uses a character likeness owned by a game company is illegal to distribute and post. Interesting I think.
