PSP Quake 1 v1.1 - Image 1Here's a big heads up coming in from developer jurajstyk. The coder's letting out word that PSP Quake 1 has just been upgraded to version 1.1.

This game is based on the PSP Quake port created by the dev duo of Peter Mackay and Chris Swindle, and hosts several improvements since version 1.0's release last year. Quoting the changelog:
  • Fixed bug that prevented changing sky texture between levels (HW rendering only)
  • Fixed z-buffer related bug when rendering sprites (HW rendering only)
  • Added options to turn on vertical synchronization and dithering (HW rendering only)
  • Reorganized options menu (Select 'more options'/'less options' to switch options list)
  • Added more options for analog stick controls
  • Added analog stick strafing (while you hold stafe button or always if allowed options menu )
  • Configurable heap size
  • MP3 playback changed from madlib library to playback trough module in firmware
  • New command line options
  • Simple startup screen to choose game mod directory, heap size and cpu clock (use -prompt command line option)
PSP Quake has been successfully tested on a PSP running on custom firmware 3.40. Keep in mind that you will need the full version of ID Software's Quake (PC) to run this homebrew game. You'll also want to refer to the file bundle's readme for full installation and usage instructions.

» Networking Broken

I have two PSP's with 3.90 M33 (And the latest 1.50 update) And ADHoc doesn't work. The server unit goes into server mode and starts the game, but the connecting one simply reports 'Client Server Keepalive' forever and never connects.

And now Infrastructure is broken as well! I can't even run a server machine on a PC and have my two PSP's connect to that. They both go into console and display 'Trying' forever and cannot be closed or homed, and require manual shutdown.
