If you think this semblance of a peaceful life is going to last, well, then think again. The latest version of the homebrew game Times of War from the DevInside Team (Dead Angel and RichardV) and Madcupid has just been released, and the list of improvements made to version 3.0 is substantial.

In this shoot 'em up game, players are tasked with piloting a fighter plane (Woot for F-15s!) and taking down enemy planes to get through all 14 levels. The changes made to this version though are mostly bugfixes, and only two new features were added - the game tutorial and the "Loading" screen - but these are still very important to make the game more enjoyable.

Here's the complete changelog for Times of War version 3.0:
  • Added the Game Tutorial (under options)
  • The plane now performs a flip when you use a "Special"
  • New eboot image
  • Fixed alot of small bugs and made small changes(too many to mention)
  • Fixed a loading problem from the save/load menu
  • Added "LOADING" to all screens that needed it
  • Fixed another bug in the "Manage highscores" screen(it would freeze sometimes)
  • You can now skip the intro (just press start)
  • Added some more sounds
  • Cleaned up some code
Don't forget to check out the readme for more instructions and details on the controls of the game. Enjoy!

» could be good but...

This is quite a good game considering the average level of homebrew games available for the psp, however a few things could be improved :

1) The scenario is lame. It is actually the worst scenario of the entertainement industry EVER (including Roland Emerich's movies, korean dramas, and american comics). Better not put any scenario at all in that case...

2) more than 450 files ? It took me almost 6 minutes to copy it to the psp...you could use one png and extract the sprites from it rather than 400 png files...I'm pretty sure it increases loading times, too...

3) The 2 points above are not important, but this one makes the game barely playable : you can't keep the fire button pushed, you have to push it for every single bullet you want to fire. In that kind of game were you have 100 ennemies/second, it hurts the hand's muscles, really !

Keep up the good work, this game needs improvement but it's really promising.

» be serious frwololo

man, what kind of lame ass arcade player are you??? asking for a turbo button??? i can tell from a distance that youre definitely not a classics fan, probably never even played any of them... and criticizin the scenario given the fact that 90% of the hb games out there dont even have scenarios... i love this game and i beat it many times (my fingers never hurt)...thanks alot devinside team
