TIFF Pong v0.1Coders Percival and Robert A. have just released their second homebrew game, which runs on fw2.70 to 2.80: TIFF Pong v0.1. It's a simple game of Pong that makes use of the TIFF exploit along with the 2.70-2.80 SDK that was just recently released by Noobz.

Since this is a TIFF game, the creators have instructed that to install this game, one will have to place the "Pong" folder into the "Photo" folder of the memory card. Entering the "Pong" folder will cause the game to start automatically.

At the moment, the developers also pointed out that the game cannot be properly exited yet and that the Screenshot capability has not yet been put into place. They have noted that these will be fixed soon.

i fear someone will use the tiff to do bad things, like make emulators that will run on 2.8 lol

Whats the point of these games (Tetris and Pong) when you can get them off the web and play them using the built-in flash player....plus ur psp dosen't crash everytime you want to exit.

# The point is...Guest 2006-09-13 00:48
@chris

The point is that we have a basis for even more homebrew in the future. Also, Flash games suck and are slow as hell. And finally, Tetris doesn't crash on exit, and Pong is said to be fixed sometime today in v0.2, so, I don't really hear you.

Great work PSP3D, this one kicks ass (and you all made this in less than 2 hours after the SDK release, WOW)!

#13, there would be no point trying to run this on 2.81- the TIFF exploit that this uses does not exist for that firmware. It wouldn't even start to run any code.

I did that and it worked fine for me

bbtw If it freezes up when you try to run it and then a few seconds or so later it say sony computer entertainmeant that means it did a hard reboot

I was waiting for 2.01+ Firmware to be homebrew enabled without using GTA, now two games work, whats next? Hopefully an e-loader (hint, hint guys!) Although I've said I'd want an e-loader in the tetris article, I thought I'd bring it up again.

# this is awesomeGuest 2006-09-13 14:03
okay, so the game is decent, but what i am really escited about is that this means the code has been cracked. there is most definitely more home brew on the way for 2.80 users, and i couldn't be happier!

also, for people who have tried coding, noobz.eu released a guide to writing your own program. that means that

a) noobz is not the only one who can make homebrew, so more and more agames will start coming soon, and

b)sony will have access to the coding, so updaters beware!

tetris is fun but pong is just boring!

2 player??

i hope fanjita comes out with this eloader because this is boring.

i did spend a half hour playing tetris though...

lol

well, nice work anyway.

just to tell you 33, 2.81 already patched the tiff exploit.

i dont think sony will do anything with it.

the real issue is people making bricking programs.

only use programs from noobz.eu, qj.net, psp-hacks.com...

dont trust other people.

I'm friggin sick of all these cheezy exploit games.

I understand playing some old 2-d games.....but NOT through an exploit, and NOT tetris and pong!

I'm in no way asking for something better, i'm just saying why waste your time. If I had a 2.8 and was pissed, i'd (wait/don't complain/wait alot more - When i had 2.6) do what i always do.

But in the end, I guess it can't hurt to play anything, rather than nothing.

It's supposed to look like it froze Cyber. I might now work the first few times.. It didn't work for me on my first try, but worked on my second. The only problems I see with it is that

1.) You have to take the battery out of the PSP to turn it off.

2.) It's not single player.

Otherwise everything else it great..
