SuperMarioBros.Portable v0.1 |
PSP homebrew game developer, emericaska8r, passed by our forums recently to tell us about his first ever Lua release, SuperMarioBros.Portable v0.1. He mentions that it is basically a Super Mario Brother clone and since it is his first release, we give him props for a good start and we hope that he'll let us in in his other PSP projects.
Anyhow, the game is still in its infant stage so there are a lot of factors missing to it. For his future plans, he wants to add enemies, make levels longer, tweak the controls and gameplay. Controls are as easy as 1-2-3: the D-pad will take care of movements, press cross to jump, and press square + D-pad for Mario to run.
emericaska8r is urging everybody to post their comments, criticisms, and suggestions so as he would know what to add in his next release. The only way for you to have constructive thoughts about this game is if you'll download it. So with that, the download link's down there, have fun!

this game is a piece of ***** why do u post this ***** qj.net?? its just a waste of people time to have to go thru it all. and whats the point in posting 'news' of an awesome hardly developed beta v0.0000001 LUA piece of ***** we all know that 99% of these suck balls and are never gonna be upgraded past beta how about u post something that's actually playable for a change!

sorry about the humongous blocks lol, i wasn't thinking about that. secondly the background will also be changed soon to an actual background. thanks for suggesting all this (though many of you could have been a bit nicer). though i would have liked you all to actually have tested the game before saying it sucks because the blocks are too big. i promise this game will be updated, and playable.

dont worry ur game is really good for a first realease and i can see it goin really far everybody who flames a developer for realeasing a beta should be eaten by a zorgon becuase thats just no good coders should all stick together and suport each other. critisism is good sometimes but jeeez boys wats with the hatred and the this game is *** stuff even dark alex had to start somewhere and who knows this guy may be one day be custom firmwaring our ass :P piece out man dont u worry i have seen alot of devs leave cuz of uneeded critesism and i wont let u become one :P i got ur back bro xoxoxo

well 2 comments by different tattooers cool.but im a lua dev as well and id just advise not even releasing these small beta/alpha/first release rushed lua games. if it is as simple as WOW it works let me show it off then wait until it is fun because people will criticise everything.also for a first release you'll end up looking back and thinking it was crap anyhow(I did).hell i was criticised for a screenshot accused of stealing.but the point im making is stay at it.hold fast.only listen to yourself and code away!
I said this game was kewl because its very good for a 1st release. Most of you dont understand the studying and skill it takes to code it takes to code even the simplest of applications.
