Sora Adventure v0.1 For PSP |
I once said that it's always worth writing about homebrew games eventhough they are still at their early stages and are still not playable because it's sure nice knowing that someone's actually making an effort to make a game everyone can enjoy in the future...and for free (boy, do I love homebrew!). Hence, here I am again, writing about a homebrew game I'm sure PSP owners and Kingdom Hearts lovers will be looking forward to.
Gunntims0103 tries his hand at creating a LUA game with Sora Adventure v0.1. The game still has no storyline and is not yet fully playable. So far, this release has Kingdom Hearts protagonist Sora running around the woods.
The author hopes he can stick around to developing this game long enough to see the following goals realized: putting Sora's sprite out of the black block, integrating levels together, changing Sora's clothing and the keyblades, and adding "companions" that will follow your character in the game. There are also other things gunntims0103 would like to add in Sora Adventure like AIs for enemies, attacks for Sora, main menu, a storyline, music, and multiplayer functions.
Since this is gunntims0103's first attempt at LUA and doesn't know all the LUA codes, he is welcoming any help that can be extended to him, especially help with regards to making AIs and a main menu. He's already had help with the sprite and background from Shadowblind.

i agree. school is a waste of time. life is for having fun and playing games...by the way this is my 3rd late nighter this week!!! .... partly because i just got devhook and busy with app's and ISOs. How many of others like doing all-nighters???

Reporting on this kind of stuff seems pretty pointless, its far from a 'game', and I seriously doubt it will ever become anything worthwhile playing. Making fun games is ****ing hard. It seems to me that none of these lua 'early stages' projects have ever gotten anywhere.
Are these graphics from scratch?
u guys are gay for reporting games like this, everybody starts games and then end out with only a proof of concept, this game is strictly *****s only
the character sprite should be bigger. i cant stand SMM because the character sprite is so small, don't make the same mistake.
This is the dumbest homebrew post I've ever seen on PSP Updates. Early stage? How about post it when the kid figures out how to use *****ing transparency. You guys post anything and everything anymore, and this is just ridiculous.

That seriosuly looks like crap. How come he doesn't use png to get it transparent. Also, Sora Adventure? How original is that. Why does qj report crap like this?
Ok, the guy needed help to probably getting a non-transparent sprite moving, and a background... nice - can't wait for this game to be finished - LOL :D
Ok some of you don't like the "game" I'm pretty sure that's one reason people only start a game and then let get feedback to see if they should continue or not. I think it sounds like a good concept and for one know my wife would play it ;-) Best of luck to you and your game if you decide to stick to it! Dartan
