Even when an announced homebrew game is not yet complete and playable, it's always nice to know that someone out there is working on something that we can all be enjoying in the near future. That's why it's a refreshing to find out that mikesena from our forums is working on Slime Volleyball PSP.

A clone of the Java game Slime Volleyball by Daniel Wedge and Quin Pendragon, mikesena emphasizes that this is not a port and is "a total rewrite". The game is not yet totally playable as the ball cannot be passed yet but Slime Volleyball PSP already includes the following features:
  • Slimes (those yellow and red half-moons) move
  • Slimes jump
  • The ball bounces (albeit in a dodgy manner)
Slime Volleyball PSP is still a work in progress and mikesena is trying to add an AI bot and fix the problems with the ball movements. He welcomes anyone who is interested in developing this game with him - LUA programmers and graphic artists ("to 'spruce' up the game a bit"); just send him a private message.

If you want to see how the game fares right now, feel free to download the latest version - mikesena just pleads, "Please don't comment on how bad the ball is. It is really just to show that the ball exists, it isn't meant to work properly (it works better on the psp than on windows lua player)."

OMG YES!!! YESS@@!! You have to continue development for this! totally great game. A 2 player support would be great, 2 player meaning 2 people using the same psp. that would rock.

OMG! Finally! I've been waiting for this game for like so long and its finally here. I always loved playing it against my friends. This is an addicting game. It would be amazing if this could be changed to Soccerslime. I think that game is ten times better. Just a suggestion. Thank You.

After playing this for countless hours at school, I can finally play at home. Slime games are the best! The funny thing is that I was wondering if anyone would ever make something like this for PSP like 1 month ago. Slime volleyball and basketball rule!
