Rise Of The Triad PSP v 1.0 - Image 1Developer Deniska is announcing the release of Rise of the Triad v1.00 for the Sony PSP. As its name implies, this homebrew is actually a handheld adaptation of 3DRealm's FPS title of the same name, originally launched in 1995 for PCs.

Deniska had originally started this project back in 2005, although word of its progress went silent after its previous version was released back in 2006. This particular release will now be compatible with the PSP Slim, along with other important upgrades (quoting the readme):
  • Slim psp support.
  • fixed a memory leak bug, crashing the game after 5-10 minutes of playing.
  • fixed intro screens / cut scenes
  • some performance optimizations to rendering and timidity routines.
  • added a PSP screen-size selector. On "Screen Size" selector menu, pressing [Right Arrow]
  • while at max screen size value, toggles between "Original" (320x240), "4x3" and
  • "Full Screen" modes.
  • added Brightness control. On "Screen Size" selector menu, pressing [Left Arrow] while
  • at min screen size value, toggles between different brightness settings.
  • new psp game icon.
We advise any would-be users to view the file bundle's readme before attempting to run this game on their PSP. You will also need to have a copy of the original game (Rise of the Triad: Dark War) to run this homebrew. Enjoy the download, and be sure to keep on the lookout in case of any new updates.
