No matter how old some concepts get, there are always going to be those select few that manage to stand the test of time. When talking of video games, Asteroids is definitely one of those few special titles. Believe it or not, the very first version of this iconic space shooting masterpiece was released all the way back in 1979. Since then it has been rehashed and remade by just about every single developer imaginable, but if these download stats are any indication, people have still found a way to fall in love with it.

Coming from the Wii homebrew developer known as Owen, this game is yet another attempt to recreate the classic model. Although I make no real intention to belittle it in the least. Through the inclusion of newer elements like 3D environments and power rings to manage over heating processes, playing Asteroids on your Wiimote has never really been any cooler than this. What really brings a lot to this version in particular however is a slight increase in difficulty options for all of you diehards. The hard mode doubles the amount of enemies you have coming at you, while achievements like "journey" are also more difficult to obtain.
Throw in your odds and end bug fixes to tighten things up, and you've got the ingredients for the fourth highest download in November!
QJ likes to provide our members with as many homebrew options as possible. The next download was popular for a reason and if you are in the PSP and PS Vita homebrew scene you won't want to miss out.
