PxP Homebrew Competition

Our good man PSPJunkie_ at the QJ forums has just announced a homebrew competition that they're hosting. It's the PxP Homebrew Competition and they're going to be accepting entries starting Wednesday, January 17.

The contest will only be open to U.S. residents and the grand-prize winner will bag a Neuros MPEG Video Recorder 2. And if they can find more sponsors to fund the prizes, the 2nd- and 3rd-placers will win US$ 50 and US$ 25, respectively.

As for the rules, you have to remember that above all, your entry must be completely original (no updates!). Emulators aren't allowed, and any Lua game must have its own eboot. You'll have to make sure your entry has an icon0 and pic0, and must include a splash screen to be provided by PxP. More rules are still being drafted, and PxP should have them all up on the forums shortly.

All entries must be submitted within the next two months as the contest ends on March 17. Time to brush up on your coding skills, guys. If you've got any questions, you can either discuss them in our forums, or click the "Read" link below.

I think you have the date wrong. Is it Monday the 15th or Wednesday the 17th?

by Pauridius - 2007-01-15 15:11
» Awesome!

Cool, these are the times we see some great homebrew breakthroughs. Good luck to everyone in the competition.

Like Wayne said; the date is mixed up.

» all the best homebrew comes fron outside the US

we all know all the best Homebrew Devs comes from outside the USA, Dark_AleX, Fanjita, Yoshihiro, and so on. and it don't cost that much to send mail to other countrys, so this should be open to the whole world not just the USA

» Money

It's not all about the money, it's to prove your coding skills.

» : )

It shows what the main motivator for some people is, doesn't it "bob"?! Do you think dark_alex does it for the money? He probably could have made a nice packet if he'd decided to sell his firmware but instead, he left it up to you whether you wanted to donate or not.

» na

and if we all contribute to this competition (i.e. donate more so the winners get more) then we show support for the community. I for one am winning to put up $100 for the cause.

» Full-featured word processor please

Hey Devs, if you're reading this, I think it would be very useful to figure out how to get the PSP to pick up a wireless keyboard's output, then make some sort of word processer or pda app that uses it.

Thanks!

by Dodo - 2007-01-16 11:26
» Cool

If you learn to code, or if anyone reading this knows how to code homebrews, please make some kind of univeral IR remote app for multimedia devices, unless you're really good and it can make my gf make me a tuna sandwich while I watch Stargate SG1
