Well, blame E3. joeySMiTH from our forums had released PSPTetris in our forums a few days back. But during all the E3 madness, it somehow skipped our radar.
Anyways, on to the news. He has released a flash based game specially for PSPs running the new 2.7 firmware. The installation is pretty simple:
Extract tetris.swf to the root of your Memory Stick. (Not the MP_Root Folder!)
Open your PSP Browser, and type in file:/tetris.swf in the address bar.
You also put it in a folder and enter the exact path in the browser. And bookmark it, so that you don't have to type it again and again.
The gameplay is very intuitive. Use the Directional Pad to control the pieces.

well, ive just tried it. it is made well, fast, and addictive. A MUST HAVE for 2.7 USERS. Easy to install and good graphics. NICE JOB!
so where exactly is the "root" folder? Does the browser actually have to be connected to the interent for the game to work? thanks
For a second there I thought 2.7 had been hacked XD
The root is the actual drive which you double click on in My Computer...
Dont put it inside any folder.
ver 2.70 is the best!

This game is the best game 4 2.7 flash so far. It is very addictive and shapes are very colurful. Worth downloading 2.7 ppl.
Games appear 2 be the only good thing that has come out of the flash player. Kepp them coming!!
2.7 really needs more games like this. This is an excellent game... very polished for a Flash game.

the root is the base folder, like your hdd's C:\

iso emulation (or any kernel thing) might be near impossible, but i cant accept the fact normal stuff like emulators are not possible =`] only time will tell... hehehe
There are a lot of great PSP games that are coming out in the near future that I'd happily trade homebrew for. I realize that there are a lot of systems that can be emulated, but I've played those games many a time. Personally, I prefer new games. Flash games provide a little extra when there's a drought of new official games.

anyways, is there any way you could load an eboot loader like from flash, like a flash emulator of the computer one?
Although this isn't an exploit, I bet Sony will get annoyed at us playing non-internet Flash content and block it soon!
Either that or they'll find an exploit and beat us to it.

Its loaded up but nothing happens, it shows the screen but not tiles start falling.
oh and its a japenese psp too.

After seeing this I am now considering upgrading. More flash based homebrew will come out in the future. If I upgrade I will be able to play the latest games and Tetris!! Cool, keep it up guys :)

you can play this from your computer, you don't need to be connected to the internet to play (except to activate flash player)

I have a question to ask. Before I ask, I just want to say that I know NOTHING about how to make homebrew programs for the PSP. My question is, is it possible to make ISO loaders (only to play games you legally own) and emulators (like snes or n64) using nothing but flash, making them bootable on a v2.7 PSP? I'm very sure homebrew makers have already thought of this and tried it, but I was just wondering.
Read something but the headline. It's just a flash game that is playable via the browser, as the 2.7 browser has a flash player built in. This doesn't take advantage of any exploits whatsoever. This has nothing to do with eloader or any other PSP homebrew.

I just wanted to say that I understand that this is NOT a hack, but just a Macromedia Flash-based ".swf" game. I just wondering if it were possible to use just Macromedia flash to make some type of emulator. Again, I know this is not a hack, but just a flash GAME. Also, what did I just make you think about, if you don't mind my asking?

I couldn't get Homebrew to work, so I upraded my PSP, and then I figured out how to download Homebrew so I was really pissed off.
Then I found this, so, yeah!
I still get to play Homebrew games with the upgrade!

you can read a txt file like a book in the same way the only difference is instead of an swf you save your book or word document as a txt in the main folder then enter file:/___.txt the underscore being your txt file name

At this very moment I have decided to hold a competition to see who the best coders out there are. I would like everybody who knows *2.7* coding to compete. So far I have 11 people competing. The winner will be declared the current best psp coder. The games will be judged by everyone who wishes to join in.

Yo, a few things im going to say after reading these comments.
1.) YES you can play this offline.
2.) You put the .swf foile directly to your memory card, not in ANY folders, hence this is called the "root" folder.
3.) Im working on PSPSolitaire, but i stoped working on it starting to day because im trying to find an exploit.
4.) It's posisble to run external files from flash, so im working on getting that to work before i come out with PSPSolitaire.
5.) Does anyoen know what operating system the PSP uses? this will be helpful in a few ways

7.) if you can't get this to work and you have a 2.7 PSP then try activating your flash player in the system menu (note: you need wireles sinternet to activate it.) If you still can't ge tit to work, then im very sorry that you have a mental illness.

lol hows it feel to be wrong? that game is similar to mine, yeah, i used some of the code from there, but only a minute bit. If your going to call me a cheat and a liar, i sugest you download that source code and try to remake my game. i bet you find it impossible.
PS- the only code i took from that dude is the animation when you get a line. Its nto as simple as just moving the blocks around. LMAO. i ask ANYONE to download that source code, and if they can recreate the program i made, then ill give them $50 via paypal. (and ill have however many people veiw this comment as witnesses)

Ok I got it up and running but i cant get a game started. No matter where i click it takes me to a blank blue screen. Some one please help!!!
Oh and I totally agree with Abdullah Rathur and joeySMiTH, i'v been thinking there has to be an exploit or something in the browser or the flash eversinse it came out.
yea u could save the .swf files onto the root of the mem card and access them through the browser even when offline. i already have like 200+ files saved on my mem card. anyone know how i could upload the files to share the games and movies with all you guys? email them to qj.net maybe and have them link the files???
Dont know how hard this would be but is there any chance you could make it so that it uses the circle buttong to start and pause or even square, as with a japenese psp pressing cross causes your psp to ask if you want to close the web browser and I really want to play it.

what button does a japanese psp use as a mouse click when using the browser? whatever button that is, it sevres as the x-button in this game.
i didnt know you moved arrow with the analogue, sorry. yes circle does use as a if its x.

2.7 is awsome, I know that 1.5 -> 2.6 is sooooo much better as I used to have a 1.5 psp (bro updated without my permission) and now I have 2.6, which I can't use. My parents don't want me to have GTA because of the violence so I can't use the xploit. atleast this way i can have SOME extra games on my psp, so please chill out

This can be used on any firmware of 2.00 and above. All it uses is a web browser, nothing new.
did you even try it? it doesnt even come in a web browser.
i dont get this at all some one please help me. so i put the file in the "root" right then i extract it then i go on the browser and type in whatever and it says can not display and the data is corrupted.pleaz help ,and thankz

i have a psp 2.7 and i need to find some way to enable the flash without these so called hotspots because here in portugal it is damn hard to find one!!!
if you want one you have to go 25 km to find one in Lisbon.....bah!!!
