Anime Style v2 Anime Style v2

Monkeyboy1916 has just released another mod for PSP Revolution. If you can recall, a few days ago he gave us the first batch of his anime-themed mods inspired from Full Metal Alchemist, Yuyu Hakusho, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Inuyasha. Monketboy1916 must be a huge anime fan, as his letter to us can't contain his excitement over his awesome creation. In his own words:

"
Here is my latest release of Anime Style mod of PSP Revolution, First of all i would like to thank RomTheStampede for all his help in making the images for this release, he is an awesome designer. This new release has added so many more songs and 3 new anime's ( Naruto, Bleach, & Code Lyoko "not really an anime but wtevr" ). I also added a couple new songs to the other anime's too. Im not sure if i will be continuing this, but if i do, i know i got all the help i could need. It is a big download, so only get it if you have bigger than 32mb mem stick. Thx for all the help everyone, and i hope you enjoy this new release!!!"

Now that we heard his thoughts, it's time for mine. I've only have this to say for projects like this... Great work, who doesn't love animes?! I'm already in my early 20s and I'm still such a huge fan of Animes like Demon Fox Naruto (and his weird jutsus), Inuyasha, Kenshin, Rei-Gun wielding Yusuke, among many others. In fact, my favorite quote came from Kira Yamato (Gundamn Pilot): "If we don't do anything just because we think it won't do something, then we just did worse than nothing".

With that said, mods like these are very welcome in the community. Add that to the action PSP Revolution gives to its players and you have a game that packs quite a punch; one that will take away the boredom of this long summer days. Hey, if you ever got tired of the button-mashing action PSP Revolution gives you, you can spend some good times just watching the themes and listening to the made-for-Anime music.

The download includes both files for 1.50 and 1.00 users. To install, just copy the the two folders (one with the game name, and the other with the game name plus % sign) and paste it inside ms0:/PSP/GAME (where ms0 refers to the memory stick of your PSP). So, get your jutsu, I mean jive, going.

@20

"people who aren't nerds and don't live with their parents and those who have showered in the last month" I like anime and I follow all those things

by - 2006-07-10 13:34:30
we have differences...

better watch alot anime so you understand, and not those kiddie stuff.there's alot of good anime, specially those r rated anime. familiar with slamdunk, gto, boys be,ghost sweeper, shadow skills, cyborg kurochan, niea 7 and doraemon? those are great shows.and btw,and don't want download it now coz i heard there's alot of problems...

by - 2006-07-10 14:19:19
replace the music

i don't like some of the songs in there, can i just manually replace the mp3 files? (i.e. replace "Flow - Go!!! (tv version).mp3" with another song but rename it as "Flow - Go!!! (tv version).mp3." i'm not a dev and know nothing.

by lionheart216 - 2006-07-10 14:44:32
it worked..this is poster 24

lol. it worked. the problem however was that the song was too long for the game. assuming it's the same principle, i can make my own folders with different songs and backgrounds, however i have no idea what the .sm and .dwi files are.... i'm assuming one of them is the kind and length of those arrows. my question is how do you increase the length of those arrow thingy in relation to the length of the music. am i infringing copywright? lol. i'm gonna use this for a personal use with my pictures and friends' and personal music. again, i have no programming background, so please don't flame or anythign of the sort. thanks

by - 2006-07-10 15:03:23
yay

I

by - 2006-07-10 15:36:02
to squall

it would be hard even if we could change the music.. cause it would have to be the same length.. and BPM of the song you're replacing.

by - 2006-07-10 16:53:48
Ugh

Anime? Yuck. I'll stick to the original, less homo version of PSP Revolution.

by eggwonder - 2006-07-10 17:39:44
well...

actually it wouldnt really matter if u swapped out the song and put in a new one... the steps just wouldnt match the song and it would make the game lame(you could make your own steps but i forget how.) an alternative would be to download a ddr song with all the music and steps and config and put it in place of the one that you dont like but keep the pictures.

by - 2006-07-10 18:54:34
love and hate it

i love anime and ddr, bring it together and u got something going. but the songs that was choses for these werent even good and the steps were really retarded, like u used a automatic step maker. yes it did follow the speed of the song, but not really the beat and rythm of whats going on. u really need to do it by hand and creat ur own steps. u can tell that those steps werent humanly made cuz they were the same steps in each song, like the same pattern

by - 2006-07-10 19:57:13
lol

lol you diss anime for nerds and watch wwe aka big sweaty guys in speedos plaing grabass

by - 2006-07-10 21:26:16
mmmm

it don't work on my psp v1.5.i get on it and it says the game could not start.

by - 2006-07-10 21:43:58
To all anime haters

It works fine, the download works fine too, im releasing v3 later. Now to get to the *****ing losers, this took alot of *****ing work, if you dont appreciate it, then dont say a thing, i worked on this on and off for days, it is well worth the download, it works no problems on a 1.50, it also works on 2.0+. DO NOT SAY THIS IS BAD, CUZ IT ISNT, it is the best mod of psp revolution i have ever seen, Also if you dont have anything good to say, then so NOT say anything, i didnt make this for all the anime haters to flame. If this keeps up i will take the download away, and delete any and every part of this project.

by - 2006-07-10 22:21:39
Ew Code Lyoko is not to be mention

it is not to be mention as anime, but sadly it only categorize as anime. such show contain nothing good should never had released at all. my hate for this reminds me of, hmm whats that called, Samurai Jack. OMG was that horrible. cartoon network or toonami time slot, I believe they knew how horrible it is but can't take it off air so they put it next to rurouni kenshin. So by comparison, Samurai Jack has no good quality whatsoever IMO which is also a bad copy of Rurouni Kenshin. In conclusion, so far all american drawn animated show that tries to make anime are all horrible. They are still considered anime but is too horrible to explain. Of course this is clearly just opinion by the majority of the world who happened to be accustomed to original Japanese origin anime.

GREAT WORK

I am a huge anime fan. I don't believe you are ever to old to stop liking anime. I think the PSPRevolution has come far since the first release and I can only hope that it goes further. This is probably one of my favorite games to play on my psp being that snes and gen is getting old. N64 sounds like something fun but for those who really enjoy games like DDR and own a PSP this homebrew really keeps us locked. Great work and definitely keep this homebrew running if you can. To those who don't like anime all I can say is suck it up if you don't like it don't download it. Though it would be cool to have multiple songs to select from like freestyle, pop, or .. you get the idea. A full running homebrew game. Other than that great job thanks for the homebrew. ps- one last thing though. If it could be possible a systems link for vs. mode would completely finish this homebrew as top notch. I have a brother who loves psprevolution and he asked well "why not have a vs. mode?" being that we both play psprevolution all the time. any comments on that?
