Homebrew coder dan369 has released a demo of PSP Mario, a simple Mario game written in Lua using PGE. The gameplay feature is almost the same as the classic Mario games but with better graphics and some custom animation.

Since this is only a demo, only one level is available for you to play which is a re-make of the first stage in Super Mario Bros. for the NES. However, as dan 369 clarifies in the comments below, he does have a Map Editor, albeit in need of some quickfix. But this also resolves the restarting bug, so that evens things out. As for the next version, be ready to roll out the welcome mat for Luigi.

Again, thanks Dan369!

Hi qj, if your wondering yes i am the developer who made this.

To clear things up, i Have a map editor, it's just needs a bit of fixing up. Also This is a older version. The link on the forums has been updated with a bug-fix. It solves the bug where you couldn't restart after you've completed the demo. Last thing, expect luigi as well in the next version ;).

» Awesome

Just wanted to mention that I have tried this out and it was awesome. I would love to see the release! dan, this really reminded me of the Little Big Planet level I made for Mario 3. I had to map out the entire level with a SMB3 Rom by making screen shots so that I knew where to put everything. Check it out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJ1rWNUbjRQ
