Powernoid by Art - Image 1Art's released another homebrew game for our enjoyment, this time a Breakout clone game called Powernoid V3b. What's different about this version is that its got powerups inspired by Megaball for the Amiga.

V3b is an "emergency fix" to ball direction with the bat which he broke somewhere along the line, he said. In case you didn't get the changelog for the previous version, Powernoid v3, we've also included it here for your udpate.

Powernoid V3b:
  • Fixed control of ball direction with the bat which was broken in a previous release.
Powernoid V3:
  • Improved collision detection by checking the edge of the ball in the direction it is travelling.
  • Bat movement made slightly faster, and ball turns red when fireball powerup is active.
  • Added powerups to two more stages so every odd stage now has a powerup available.
  • Change made to second ball behaviour in multiball mode.
  • Change to high score encryption so the save file is incompatible with previous version.

IT'S *****ING BREAKOUT FFS! It's not new, original or exciting!

Why is it every wanna be dev just rehashes old ***** that's been done a million times before and then expects people to give a *****?

Yay, you made breakout. Well done. What's next? Pong?

If you have the ability to write code for a game like this, why the ***** can't you write something different, new and original instead of yet another rehash of an old, boring game?
